Yünsa, which has the largest integrated woolen woven fabric production facility in Europe under a single roof, decided to invest 1.7 million Euros.

‘Sustainable’ Investment of 1.7 Million Euros from Yünsa

While pointing out that they have taken another very important step for a sustainable future with their investment in 24 weaving looms and 2 twisting machines, Yünsa General Manager Mustafa Sürmegöz said, “We will also make progress in reducing our carbon footprint when we commission new machinery and equipment investments that will also save energy.”

While serving more than 400 fashion and ready-made clothing companies in more than 50 countries, Yünsa decided to invest in 24 weaving looms and 2 twisting machines. The twisting machinery investment is expected to be delivered by the end of 2023, and the weaving loom investment is expected to be finalized in January 2024. With a total investment of 1.7 million Euros, the target is to reduce technical waste and increase production capacity.

Yünsa General Manager Mustafa Sürmegöz shared the details of the investment and stated that with the increase in capacity, unit energy consumption and technical waste will be lessened, which results in reducing costs. Sürmegöz said, “With this investment we have made, we expect an increase in energy efficiency and our premium quality fabric production rate as well. Thus, customer satisfaction and employee productivity will also be increased in this way. While we are taking important steps for a sustainable future with the investments we have made, we increase the production capacity by raising the efficiency level and quality.”

While stating that by investing in innovative and advanced technologies, the compliance with the digitalization and 4.0 infrastructure in the factories has been increased, Mustafa Sürmegöz said that they also aim to manage energy consumption efficiently as well. While stating that as Europe's largest integrated woven fabric manufacturer, they have an annual capacity of producing 4,500 tons of worsted yarn and 10.5 million meters of fabric weaving, Mustafa Sürmegöz continued as follows; “In line with our strategic priorities and vision; we aim to continuously improve the quality of the product and service process by using up-to-date technologies and to meet customer expectations by entrusting these capabilities. When we commission new energy-efficient machinery and equipment investments, we will make significant progress in reducing our carbon footprint. With a sense of responsibility towards future generations, we will reduce our energy needs and minimize our waste as an environment-considering business. We aim to make a name for ourselves with our environmentally sensitive works. As Yünsa, we will continue to lead for a more livable world.”

Yünsa Celebrated its 50th Anniversary with Enthusiasm

Yünsa, one of the most valuable brands in the textile industry in the world and the largest integrated woolen fabric manufacturer in Europe under one roof, celebrated its half-century successful past with its employees.

Yünsa Chairman of the Board Mustafa Sürmegöz said that Yünsa, which was founded precisely 50 years ago under the chairmanship of the founder Sakıp Sabancı and has grown over the years by becoming one of the most important woolen fabric manufacturers in the world, is setting its direction towards a stronger and more successful future.

In the celebration event held at the production facilities in Çerkezköy on June 15, 2023, seniority awards were also given to employees of Yünsa for 15 years or more as well.
