Picanol Goes to INDIA ITME with Growth

Picanol will showcase its latest technological products at India ITME Exhition on 2-7 December. Besides the recently introduced airjet, the OMNIplus Summum also state of the art rapier machines like the OptiMax and the GTXplus will be on display. The Picanol booth is located at the Open Bay Area, K1 and will meet its Indian customers.

In addition to these four machines, one Picanol Jacquard TERRYplus 800 weaving machine will be on display on the Stäubli booth, and an OptiMax jacquard weaving machine will be on display at the Bonas/Van De Wiele booth. INDIA ITME 2012, in the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre is described as the largest exhibition of its kind in India and is expected to attract over 125.000 textile visitors.

The machineries to be displayed at the exhibition by the Company also offer practical solutions with their technical features. The super broad Optimax flexible rapier weaving machine focuses on weavers looking for both environmental-friendly production and flexibility. Technical yarns, being technologically hard and bulky, can be added problem-free and at a maximum speed. Ecofill, the Picanol wasteless system placed at the edge of OptiMax loom is at the forefront. Another machine to be displayed by Picanol is the OMNIplus Summum airjet weaving loom previously displayed at ITMA Barcelona. The machine with a speed of 2011 rpm at its filament lining version has technical versions like parachute and vehicle seats. Summum, which means “The Best” in Latin, is regarded as the most successful product of Picanol’s airjet OMNI Series. Among the novelties of the machine are fully electronic pressure regulator and unique triple air tank setup for the relay nozzles. While these new features provide extended application fields, they also mean less power consumption and faster operational speed.

Picanol’s Presence in India for a Half Century

Picanol has been successfully serving the Indian market since 1956. In view of the potential and expected growth of the Indian market, Picanol decided to set up its own organization in India early 2008 in order to more actively support its local activities. Picanol, being a close follower of the change in the Indian Market, has been focusing strongly on local sales and service activities.  Picanol, who become especially one of the leading providers of weaving machines on the local market, is outstanding with important growth figures obtained in the market.

Picanol Increased its Turnover in Third Quarter

The high demand for weaving machineries in the global market enabled the machinery builders to increase their turnovers in the third quarter of 2012. Picanol Group realized a consolidated turnover of 116.72 million in the third quarter of 2012, which represents an increase in turnover of 19% compared to 97.88 million euros in the same period in 2011. In the third quarter of 2012, Picanol experienced a slight increase in activities compared to the same period in 2011. The favorable exchange rate of the euro also contributed to this success. The company also increased it recruitment in that period. Since the beginning of 2012, the company increased its recruitment number for a single production line by 175 employees and consequently increased its production capacity.

Recently, the Picanol Group has invested in the further expansion of its international network. In early August, the new Indian headquarters in New Delhi was inaugurated in the presence of H.E. Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and European Affairs. Meanwhile, in the United States, Picanol of America will move to a new location in Greenville (South Carolina) at the end of this year. At the production site of Suzhou in China, a new warehouse is being built for weaving machines. Picanol Group serving in the industry for over 75 years is keeping pace with the global market with its production plants in Asia and Europe. Picanol Group realized a consolidated turnover of 466.95 million Euro in 2011. Picanol Group headquarded in NYSE in Brussels has over 1.900 employees all over the world.
