With its solutions for the ribbon and narrow weaving, Jakob Müller, a long established manufacturer of textile technologies, is regarded as one of the important players of the global market. The company that was founded by Jakob Müller-Schneider in 1887, developed punch card control and narrow fabric weaving systems initially. In 1990, the company introduced the shedding formation based on the jacquard system and in 1918, it presented its first narrow fabric loom for zipper tape. In 1956, Jakob Müller introduced its hook and loop fasteners in 1956 and its narrow fabric needle loom in 1963. Later, the company introduced MÜGRIP MBJ, rapier label weaving machine in 1987, the air jet label weaving machine in 1997 and MDR42, electronically controlled crochet knitting machine with weft insertion in 1999.
The company that was once a small Swiss company, achieved a rapid growth and turned out to be a global enterprise. In 1977 Jakob Müller Deutschland GmbH was established in Germany. It is followed by Jakob Müller Italiana S.p.A. in 1979, Jakob Müller of America Inc. in 1982, Jakob Müller (India) Private Ltd in 1994 and by Jakob Mğller Machinery (China) Co. Ltd in 1997. Today, the company has more than 1000 employees, working on 4 continents and a representative network covering 60 countries. The company that is the leader of the global market in narrow weaving equipments and systems, offers solutions for the parts of up to 2,500 mm. The company is at the same time a member of FACTOR+, which symbolizes the quality of their members, the important textile machinery manufacturers of Switzerland.
Innovations Come to ITM After ITMA
The company that increases its market recognition with the fairs it participates in, attracted attention at ITMA Barcelona with the innovations it’s brought in narrow weaving. With the label weaving machine MÜGRİP MBJ6, the electronically controlled weaving loom NH2M 53, and the printing system for the elastic and non elastic narrow fabrics MDP2 E MÜNPRINTS 2, the company received appreciation by the visitors at ITMA, held in September 2011. Contrary to the previous MBJ models, MÜGRİP MBJ6 has been equipped with an additional sixth harness. As a result, machine’s rated weaving width increases to 1380 mm. Consequently, the speed of the five-harness machine is maintained and the efficiency increases by 20 percent. NHJ2 53 has been designed for the weaving of medium-weight elastic and non-elastic narrow fabrics. Electronically controlled shedding is carried out through the linear motors, mounted directly on the shafts.
MDP2, which has been upgraded and used for the printing of non elastic narrow fabrics and belts, performs contactless inkjet printing. The machine has been put on the market under the name of MDP2 E MÜPRINT. The company states that the contactless process allows printing of relatively heavy products with coarse surface structures
Jakob Müller’s MFR3 A, which provides a simultaneous dyeing or finishing of various fabrics, also includes various innovations. Since the machine has been equipped with an efficient hot air dryer, it ensures a uniform temperature distribution in the color fixing chamber. Light- to medium-weight, elastic and non-elastic polyamide, cotton, viscose, acetate and polyester narrow fabrics can be processed at a maximum working speed of 30 m/min.
The company will share its latest innovations and solutions with its visitors at DTG 2012, which will be held on February 7-10, 2012, in Bangladesh and later at ITM ISTANBUL, which will be held on April 21-24 2012, in İstanbul. Jakob Müller will also take place among the important participants of ITMA ASIA + CIME 2012, which has already attracted attention as the most important event of 2012 for the textile machineries.
