Ipeker Tekstil A.Ş., one of the oldest firms of Bursa, creates a difference in the sector with its innovative and high value-added fabrics. Ipeker completed the hard test-approval processes in Switzerland and Germany and received the V-Label Vegan Fabric Certificate by the European Union. This way, Ipeker became the first company that can use the European Vegetarian Union’s vegan label in its products. The global firms that will use the company’s fabrics will use the certificate code in their products that starts with TR.
Ipeker sells fabrics to 100 customers in 52 countries and draws attention with its environmentalist approach.
Fabrics That Do Not Contain Proteins
Ipeker is the first company that holds the ‘Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certificate’, producing environment friendly products with GRS Certificate, and has added a new international certificate the V-Label, which is given by the European Vegetarian Union to register and control vegan products. Ipeker Board Member İhsan İpeker stated that this way they have a concept that vegan people can prefer their products trustfully and said “By V-Label Certificate we documented that there is no animal content in our 146 different fabrics.” Ipeker continued as follows: “While carrying out our practices on sustainable textiles, we also contribute to our national economy by value-added products and show sensitivity to other living creatures’ lives which are an irreplaceable part of our environment. We produce cupro instead of silk. In our New Life Collection we make production by recycling more than 100 plastic bottles to give fibers silky characteristics. We ensure continuity without hurting any living creature and the environment during the production process.”
Vegan fabric is completely produced from waste materials by regenerating the unused parts such as cotton seeds and wastes. It is the most similar fabric to silk and is an environmentalist product that leaves no marks behind and completely dissolves when it is mixed into earth. After the Oeko-Tex Tests are carried out in Switzerland and is proven that the fabrics have no harm to human health or to the environment, DNA tests are conducted to verify that the products do not contain any animal content or proteins.
