Demand Increases, Bossa Moves Towards the Far East

Leaving behind  60 years in the textile industry, Bossa paints a strong Picture in terms of growth in 2012, as in 2011. Starting opertaing as a sabancı company in Adana in 2011, Bossa has turned into a chain of enterprises supplying the important players in the global market with textile products. Expanding its field of activities physically and in scope, Bossa launched Formal Wear Facility in 1974, Denim and Sportswear facility in 1990, and Shirting facility in 1993. With a total of three production facilities spread over 650 thousand square meters and 1000 stuff, Bossa is one of the largest integrated textile enterprises. Incorporated by Akkaran Group in 2008, the company has an average annual turnover of $ 240 million and $ 110 million export power.

The company continues to visit exhibitions in the international arena. Participating in  Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Exhibition held from October 22 to 25, Bossa keeps strong communication with their customers from the Far East. Providing visitors with information about products and market studies during the exhibition, Birim Atagan, Export Sales Manager for Bossa Shirting, made important explanations to our magazine. Stating that they attended Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics with shirts and formal wear product line, Atagan underlined that they took this decision considering the upper segment demands in the Far East.  Atagan pointed out that Bossa, sa company of Turkish origin, Bossa generated a perception of European quality, and he continued: “Buyers rely on us in terms of high-quality production. Especially the rapidly growing upper segment demands in China further enhance our growth potential both in the global market as well as in this region.

Atagan explained that Asian customers began to prefer high value-added, featured products like the Europeans, and he said: “Luxury consumption is experiencing a growing momentum in the Asian region. Buyers in this region increased their interests in Indigo shirts, Melange weighted patterns, special finishes, jacquard and cut patterns. For this reason, the size and the prestige of the supplier are of great importance for Asia. Providing information about the overall structure of the exhibition, Atagan reminded that they attended Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics exhibition last year for the first time and he added that compared to last year, this year's edition of the fair caught a larger volume of business. Atagan stated that visitors were mainly from China, and China was followed by Japanese and Egyptian manufacturers.

R & D of Bossa Pushes the Boundaries

Allocating of 2.5 per cent of their turnover to R & D each year, Bossa achieves innovative fabrics as a result of these studies. The company’s new denim fabric Glowing Whispers contains many features ever produced so far. The new denim fabric has a luminescence appearance reflecting the effects of light and movement. The product is based on a single fabric, with different goals to achieve a different look and reflections. The innovative product has been produced with an investment of $ 1 million and 6 months of R & D work.

One of the textile companies allocating the largest share of their budget for R & D activities, Bossa has 60 R & D staff. The basic concepts of the company’s R & D activities are sustainability and environmental awareness. Performing an investment of $ 100 million for improvement and capacity building in the field of textile production for the last 7 years, Bossa operates in three main production groups which are Denim and Sportswear, Formal Wear, and Shirting. One of the largest integrated textile companies in Turkey with 2400 staff, Bossa has an annual production capacity of 84.5 million meters at the four production facilities spreading over a total area of ​​650 thousand square meters.

Some of the export markets of the company exporting more than 85 percent of their production are the Middle East and North African countries as well as European countries such as SA, Spain, England, Germany, the Netherlands and France.  Among the  major brands Bossa supplies denim fabric are H&M, Nudie Jeans, Topshop, M&S, Replay, Diesel, Citizens of Humanity, G-Star, Zara, Massimo Dutti, Dolce & Gabanna, Armani Exchange, Levi’s and Acne. Brands such as Mavi, LTB, Cross are among the company’s domestic customers.
