The company, which increased its total turnover and direct exports by 50 percent on the basis of USD with the new production lines commissioned in 2022, aims to surpass the figures it achieved in 2022 in 2023, which is the year for its 35th year anniversary of establishment.
ARTA Tekstil offers high quality woven and knitted fabrics to important fashion brands and store chains both in Turkey and in Europe within the framework of sustainable production concept that respects the environment and the nature; with the investments it has achieved, an increase was made possible both on its turnover and exports on a dollar basis by 50 percent in 2022. While continuing its investments despite the energy crisis and recession concerns, ARTA Tekstil founding partner Arif Nalbant said, “The year 2022 was really challenging for all of us, with the tension between Russia and Ukraine, with the recession concerns, with the energy crisis, with the volatility in the EUR/USD parity coming out of the effects of these and with the rise in inflation. Despite all these factors, by continuing our investments, we both preserve our environment and strengthen our production structure and also built-in systems that help us to take firm steps towards our future. At the beginning, starting from the Solar Power Plant (GES) investment, that we pawed way its work by allocating 9 million dollars budget, we aim to increase both our production and export volume with the marketing activities we will conduct by continuing our investments under several headlines also in 2023.’’
Additional and Modernization Investments Continuing
While evaluating on the year 2022, Nalbant said, “2022 has been a year for us in which we increased our investments under several headlines. In addition to our existing facility, we started to fill the demands of our customers by commissioning our knitted fabric dyeing-printing units. Thus, we have also added a daily 30 tons of knitted fabric dyeing-printing capacity to our daily 150 thousand meters of woven fabric processing line. Thanks to the 'Flash-Ager' fixation line, which we commissioned within the year, we introduced dyed and printed fabrics which possess desired high fastnesses for military fabrics to the market. We just not only strengthened our production lines; we have succeeded in obtaining 40 percent of our thermal energy from biomass by investing in a biofuel boiler for the use of renewable energy within the framework of our sustainability principle. In line with the demands arising as a result of increasing our production capacity, we increased the capacity of our waste water treatment plant to 4 thousand tons per day. Also, we have commissioned our additional chemical and biological treatment pools and pumping facilities. We started to use control equipment and special software to minimize the environmental impact of our dyehouse and increase energy efficiency by making investments in technology as well. By creating an operational excellence department, we have ensured that productivity increases and errors minimized in all areas. In this way, we have reduced our water consumption from an average of 70 lt / kg of fabric to 50 lt / kg of fabric levels. We also reduced our specific energy consumption from around 11 kilowatts to 7 kilowatts per kilogram of fabric produced. We continue our efforts to further reduce these values, which are below the industry average. Thanks to all these investments and marketing efforts we made this year, we were able to increase our total turnover and export figure by 50 percent on a dollar basis as well.”
Arta Tekstil Takes Firm Steps for 2023
While talking about the Solar Energy System (GES) and rotation printing line that they plan to invest in, ARTA Tekstil founding partner Arif Nalbant said, “The textile industry is growing day by day both in Turkey and in the world. As ARTA Tekstil, we are taking firm steps with the investments we have made to meet the demands of the sector. Also in 2023, which is the 35th year of our establishment, our goal is to surpass the growth rate we achieved this year. In line with this direction, in the first six months of the year, by commissioning our 3rd rotation printing line, we plan to offer our customers faster service and products with higher quality. Also, we have completed the project work of the Solar Power Plant (GES), as one of our sustainability-focused investments, to commission via completing it by August. We will be able to meet all of the power demands of our factory with the system that we will install with an investment of 9 million dollars in order to pass on a clean and healthy environment to the future generations.
We will continue to minimize our environmental impact and carbon footprint with our investments in GES, biofuel boiler, heat recovery systems, water and energy saving control technologies. We aim to increase our cooperation with this group as the first factory in Turkey to be approved at the 'Care For Planet' level of INDITEX, which is the largest group in the ready-made clothing industry and incorporates many international brands under its ownership. In 2023, it is projected that the demands in our sector will increase in the second half, and we are designing our works in this direction. Besides, adding to the fabrics used in ready-made clothing, we continue our work to take advantage of the new opportunities that comes from the demands associate with military and functional fabrics.
Another meaning of the year 2023 is that it is the 100th anniversary of our republic, which we are proud of. As ARTA Tekstil family, led by our chief Atatürk, in order to compensate for our losses at least somewhat to the valued members whom spent their lives for the protection of our existence via establishing and surviving our republic with a tremendous effort, we will continue to work and produce continually with our full power to sign new successes.’’
