The results of ''Consumer Perception Survey about Energy Efficiency and Heat Insulation in Buildings'' that was conducted by Sustainability Academy with the support of leader of the insulation sector, Filli Boya Yalıtım, were announced at press conference. With the support of Capatect, the survey was conducted in 16 cities and 7 regions by Sustainability Academy that works as an information centre in line with the goal of being a pioneer for the transition to "Sustainable Business" models in Turkey.

In research, it was evaluated what the consumer thinks about heat insulation - savings and the rate of application for heat insulation-socioeconomic status.
''Consumer Perception Survey about Energy Efficiency and Heat Insulation in Buildings'', which reveals the perception of the consumer about energy efficiency and heat insulation in buildings, includes remarkable results for the insulation sector. According to the survey 9/10 people think that the heat insulation is very important issue. Heat insulation is considered important, because it saves money and energy. But, only 1/4 thinks that heat insulation is important for the energy efficiency. The other striking result of the survey is the perception of consumers about the effect of the heat insulation to the energy bills. In contrast to the real data, the consumers consider that the most important causes increasing the energy bills are the electrical appliances. In other words, the survey reveals that the consumer consider that the energy bills increase because of the electrical appliances and home appliances; the heat insulation provides savings and comfort for the consumers.
Giving a speech at the conference in which the results of the survey were announced, Murat Sungur Bursa, Sustainability Academy Chairman, stated that: ''We believe that the results of our survey, which leads in such works constituting the most important article of our current account deficit as the reduction of energy costs, the resource consumption for a sustainable future and raising the awareness of individuals, will contribute to the works of public and private sector as well as civil society organizations. Considering that the energy consumption in buildings constitutes a signaficant share of total energy consumption, it is possible to say that the heat insulation can be hidden financial source of urban transformation.’’.
Gülay Dindoruk, Betek Marketing Assistant General Manager, said that: ‘What matters for us is to have clients pleased with our business as the market leader. As a result of this research, we see that the vast majority of those who use heat insulation suggest it to people around them. The other result of the survey, those who want to benefit from heat insulation need a financial source. For heat insulation, we know that the role of the buildings is very important. Therefore, there is no doubt that the methods to be implemented will contribute to the national economy.”.
