Duayen Makina Purchased its Rival, Vahdet Tekstil Makine

Established by Metin Yıldız who has a rooted history in the textile sector, Duayen Makine continues its successful works in the sector. Making its firm one of the most powerful suppliers of the sector in spite of its relatively short past in the sector, Metin Yıldız purchased Vahdet Tekstil Makine San. ve Tic. Şti of which he was shareholder in the past.

Duayen Makine has been serving the knitting sector successfully in the fields of spare parts, repair and consumable materials since 2010. Duayen Tekstil Mahineleri and Vahdet Tekstil Makineleri which will continue to exist as two separate firms after the purchase process operate in the same field in the sector. Making explanation about the issue, Metin Yıldız, the Chairman of the Governing Board, stated that Vahdet Tekstil Makine will continue operating with young staff and existence of both firms in the same field will contribute to the quality. The firm will continue its services by the end of April after the structuring to be performed.

Giving information about the establishment and activities of Duayen Makine which constantly provides solutions to the problems of the textile sector by following the needs and problems of the sector closely, Metin Yıldız said that it is important for them to respond to the needs of the clients in the promptest manner and they have reached a fast growth impetus in the sector.

Operating in the fields of maintenance and repair of the round knitting machines, production of spare parts, export and import, production of creels and spare parts for the circular knitting machine, production of steels and shuttles, Duayen Makine also serves its clients by converting the circular knitting machine tube end machines into open end machines. Stating that they will add new products into the Turkish market in the future, Yıldız emphasized that they, as company, attribute a great importance to export.

25 % Growth in 2013

Exporting its products to such countries as Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, India and Pakistan, the firm targets to increase its works for product sales in the foreign markets through the export of knitting machines in particular. Stating that they could not reach the company targets completely in 2013, Yıldız added that: “2013 was a more difficult year than 2012. 40- 45 % growth target of us as Duayen Makine failed partially due to the global economic crisis and the developments in Turkey. However, owing to our knowledge and experience, we achieved a growth rate of 25 %. We believe that 2014 will be a difficult year too due to the increase in the foreign exchange rate and continuing problems.”

Branding is Essential

The increase in the foreign exchange rates leads to a decrease in the machinery sales. The data of the last six months show that demands for spare parts also reduced. Stating that this immobility of the market also affected Duayen Makine, Yıldız added that: “While investing in technology previously, much more, faster and higher quality production was being carried out in our country. This enabled us to get ahead of our rivals. Additionally, Turkey needs to create its own brands and increase its recognition. Even though they do not make production, the European countries possess the most important brands of the world. Turkey has a production of high quality and we will reach much better positions when our firms create their own brands and be successful in the world.”
