The newly developed chain offers a high performance to the users from a wide range of sectors including transport, mining, oil and gas and commercial fishing.
Stronger
Non-metallic link chain made out of the world’s strongest man-made fibre Dyneema®, Tycan® was developed in order to replace the steel chains traditionally used in order to link and reinforce project cargos during transport. Dyneema®, patented and ultra high molecular light polyethylene fibre developed by DSM Dyneema, is 15 times stronger than steel on the basis of weight-weight comparison and 40 % stronger than aramid materials.
Lighter
Tycan® chains are 8 times lighter than their metal equivalents and make 50 times less noise when used. Chain allows for impressive efficiency yields and savings in terms of cost during the whole transport process. Tycan® that can be used in large cargos such as articulated lorry, electricity steel props or windmill tribune wings allows for trailer trucks to carry a higher number of cargos by remaining within the insurable limits.
Lightness of Tycan® turns into low labour costs in many cases – results in fewer employees that need to work at the same time, more efficient assurance processes and less duration of waiting for ships in the ports and therefore, leads to lower costs. Significant additional savings can also be ensured via significantly lower debt amounts for damaged transport and equipment.
