With the Innovative Project performed by Uludağ Textile Exporters Association (UTİB), is submitted to the R&D Project Market and Turkey began the production of activated carbon fabic. Assoc. Dr. Numan Hoda who participated to the market in 2010 and performed a presentation about the use of activated carbon fabrics, founded his own business with the support of the Ministry of Industry and was able to produce the activated carbon fabrics for the first time in Turkey, which can be produced in several countries worldwide. The project provided Turkey, activated carbon fabric production as well as decreased the production costs.
Assoc. Dr. Numan Hoda who provided the production of activated carbon fabrics in Turkey for the first time which can be produced in several countries worldwide, stated that with the methods applied, its production is achieved much less than its precedents with 1 in 10 costs. Hoda, "Respirator masks that are produced with activated carbon fabrics for the first time in Turkey, different from others, not only prevents particles to get in but also prevents all molecular gas and smells. Activated carbon fabrics, use the benefits of cleaning and purification features of carbon contents" he said.
Assoc. Dr. Hoda, stated that he can not ever forget how he bought a square meter of the fabric for 160 dollar to examine; “Now I’m producing the same fabric in a much lower price. In 2013 my company has made a significant amount of endorsement by performing remarkable production. To increase production capacity, we are planning to build a new factory in 2014. Also we have made deals with Germany and United States to give them products in 2014”said.

UTİB President Ibrahim Burkay, said that the innovation and R&D insisting will continue,"We performed the project market event for the first time in 2009. When we started the project market events,in medium terms we knew there would be this kind of results. We started this by believing that they would bring new product and project to the economy in medium and long-term. Now it makes us happy to see this. We will continue to support new projects, to contribute to the writing of new success stories.”
Burkay said, the event which started in 2009 with 67 project and 145 participants, is evolving, pointing out that in 2013 they conducted the R&D Project Market with 330 project and 2 thousand 500 participants, saying "we will achieve a new record this year".
