Teksis Attends Anex For the First Time

Teksis, which exports to more than 60 countries in addition to supplying products to the firms affiliated to Hassan Group, shines out with its successful activities in the global market. Reaching the award given by İTKİB to the successful exporters, the firm also shows up in the fairs organized in the export markets. Established as the export company of Hassan Group , Teksis participated in ANEX- Asia Nonwoven Fair and Conference held in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, on the 13th – 15th of June. Kadir Lusi who is the Hygienic Products Sales Manager of Teksis which took part in the event for the first time this year made explanations to Textile World Magazine about their participation in the fairs as well as their activities for the forthcoming period.

Expressing that they took part in Anex for the first time this year, Kadir Lusi stated that they did not want to hire a very big booth. Emphasizing that they firstly wanted to gain experience, Lusi continued by saying: “First of all, we should see the complete process of the fair. We displayed our products at an area covering almost 18 square meters. We did not find it appropriate to hire a big area in a fair which they attended for the first time. We mainly displayed our hygiene and medical products at our booth. We thought we can prepare a fair booth as in INDEX if need arises in the near future.”

Only Hygiene Products Were Displayed

Making explanations about the visitor profile, Lusi emphasized that the most of those visiting their booth were familiar faces. Stating that the products which drawed the greatest attention were Bretaech brand laminated and coating products as well as Hygenius brand air through bonded nonwoven products, Lusi emphasized that needle punch nonwoven, Spunbond and thermobond nonwoven products were also found interesting. “We focused on hygiene and medical products in the fair” said Lusi and reminded that, different from Anex, they displayed all product groups manufactured within the body of their business from automotive, shoes, apparel to industrial products in Index Fair held in Geneva.

Stating that they reduced the product variety in Anex held in Seoul, Lusi pointed out that: “We restricted the product variety here, we chose displaying some of our products through CDs and brochures. However, this does not mean we underestimated the fair, we just followed such a policy as this was our first partcipation in the fair. At our booth, apart from members of our executive board, Teksis General Director Tamer Şafak, Regional Director of Sales Süheyla Yalçın, one collegue of our logistics department dealt actively with our clients together with me.

Our Commercial Relationships Start With Japan

Evaluating the effect of the fair on the activities directed to the Asian market, Lusi added that they were visited by the authorities of the global firms who were present in the Asia. Stating that they could meet with local clients, Lusi also expressed that: “ We could also meet with the raw material and machine suppliers in the fair. We hosted our global clients including Kimberly Clark and Ontex at our booth. Besides, we were visited by the authorities of the factories found in the Asia. Although the event did not yield the desired results in terms of market-oriented target sales, it took place as we expected. We had visitors from the Japanese market on which I was working for 10 months in the fair. We concluded new agreements with them and made the first deliveries after the fair. Therefore, the number of countries to which Teksis export increased to 61 from 60.”

Impression is Positive For Raw Materials

Stating that Teksis has reached important export figures in the international arena, Lusi also added that: “We export to the Asia. Prior to the fair, we were selling our products to such countries as India, Kazakhistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Singapore. We acquired a positive impression in this fair concerning raw materials rather than sales.”. Making important assessments about the 2012 market targets, Lusi concluded his remarks by saying: “When we look to Asia, there are rivals of Hassan Group in the Korean market and these are high quality and good firms. Thus, it will take time to sell products to the Korean market. I think that we can do our best with some special products. In addition, at the beginning of 2012, we had targeted to triple 2011’s budget and considering the data of the first six months, we are taking firm steps towards this goal. This target and success of Teksis also enabled the group firms to make new investments in the field of production, in particular.
