Carrying out innovative approaches and manufacturing sustainable products, Mondi has developed a new Karde Airlaid Karde (CAC) line to produce a sustainable three-layer nonwoven surface fabric for wet wipes. These materials can be used for personal hygiene and cleaning
Thanks to this new CAC line, a soluble non-woven surface fabric material is obtained by using 100 percent cellulose content, including certified viscose and pulp
The new technology, which will be fully operational in 2021 and used for the CAC line in Mondi's plant in Ascania, Germany, makes it possible to combine a highly functional and stable composite material in all three layers. This ensures about optimum absorption and lotion installation for biodegradable wet wipes; requires minimum amount of resources to apply on comparable mono-structured carding surfaces. The technology improves both the softness of hydro-embossing and its’ cleaning feature. All sustainable non-woven surface fabric material can also be manufactured on the line
High Performance Nonwoven Surfaces”
"Innovative technology means we can produce 100 percent biodegradable, high-performance non-woven surfaces for more easily accessible wet wipes," said Kelly Wright, Mondi’s Personal Care and Components Product Specialist, who is looking forward to bringing this technology to the market.
