With the machines it manufactures, Karl Mayer, which has been serving in the German textile machinery sector for 75 years, offers innovative solutions to the textile manufacturers. The company that was established in Obertshausen in 1937, started the production of tricot machines 10 years later. The warp preparation segment of Karl Mayer began its operations in 1950. The company also began its overseas activities after establishing its subsidiary in USA, in 1955. A couple of years later it expanded to Brazil and United Kingdom. Karl Mayer, which has always developed its structure as a family company, is now the leader in the field of warp knitting machines. The company has also created new standards in warp preparation equipments for war knitting and weaving. Karl Mayer, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2007, manufactured its hundredth machine in 2010.
The company that develops innovative technological products with its expertise in engineering, made a strong entrance to 2012 by introducing its innovations in warp knitting and warp preparetion at ITMA Barcelona. Along with its new tricot machine Textronic Lace and RSJ machine series, the company intorduced Malitronic Multiaxial machines, developed for the technical textiles.
Competitive Products in Warping
The high performance tricot machine Textronic Lace and RSJ machine series have a competitive price-performance ratio. The new models of Karl Mayer’s Jacquardtronic Lace, DJ series and high speed two-bar tricot machines are among the important products of the company.
The warp preparation segment of Karl Mayer has developed competitive products in terms of the ‘price-performance ratio’, which has been popular in the recent period. These machines offers innovations to the sizing sector, the production of sample warps and warps of average running length. The warp machine called Multi-Maltic, has a brand new yarn management system, which is used in order to efficiently and flexibly produce sample warps as well as warps of average running length. At average length, the machine can reach a maximum warping speed of 800 m/min.
The size division of Karl Mayer has developed the size box called PRO SIZE, which guarantees a uniform controlled size layer, a decrease of the required size quantity to a minimum, a careful yarn treatment and the reduction of sewage water. The new Pro Size, has been designed to offer maximum productivity and flexibility especially when setting the yarn density.
Malitronic Mutliaxial for Technical Textiles
Karl Mayer, which has also developed solutions for the technical textiles, uses Malitronic Multiaxial machinery series in its technical textile business unit in order to process the carbon materials. Malitronic Multiaxial C&L has a laying module on it for processing spread-out carbon tapes from a flanged spool. Compared to the conventional processes, the machine has a technique that increases the efficiency considerably while producing high quality multiaxial textiles from heavy tow materials.
The most important feature of this new system is the external Fiber Spreading Line (FSL). This line pulls the carbon tapes from the bobbins on the creel and homogenises the several rovings according to their width and grammage and merges them as defined together and winds the originated tape onto a double-flanged bobbin.
Turkish Market is Important in Knitting
Oliver Matthews, Head of Sales of the Business Unit Warp Unit at Karl Mayer, stated that a strong demand continues to be received ftom India and Turkey and that the amont of the sales performed to these markets will increase. It is observed that a majority of sales is performed to the Asian market, which quickly overcame the crisis. The company, which does not expect an increase in the sales it performs to the USA, expects an increase in its share in South and Central America instead. Another important market zone of the company consists of the Eastern Europe countries such as Poland and Czech Republic. India and Turkey were the countries to send the most visitors to the booth of the company at ITMA Barcelona.
