A ‘Technical’ Approach from Spoolex to the Nonwoven Sector

One of the French textile machine manufacturers, Spoolex SAS manufactures products for the global market with the 3 brands under its body. Achieving important turnover figures last year, the firm exports 77 % of its production and sells 23 % of the whole production to the domestic market. Spoolex Group covering the brands of Calemard®, Decoup+ and Roll Concept manufactures its products in a plant covering 3500 square meters in St.Etienni, France. Paying importance to global fairs and promotion activities, the firm was also appreciated by the visitors for its presentation at IDEA. It introduced its products at the stand no. 1145.

The most important brand of the Group representing the group in the fair is Calemard and it stands out as a department in the design and production of slitting and rewinding machines. Providing solutions for quality highly technical slitting and rewinding systems, the firm has been operating in this sector since 1955. Having a strong position in the market of technical textiles and nonwoven sector, the brand supplied more than 7500 rewinding and slitting machines worldwide. Having a strong know-how, Calemard® is regarded as expert in direct or combined, hot, cold and ultrasonic slitting technologies. The brand introduced Softedger to the market last year. This cutter which provides broad, high quality and plain edged cuts has a long life span. It was especially designed for cutting such products as % 100 PE, taffeta and sateen. While the technical textiles constitute the most significant item of the brand, machines, filtration fabrics and etc. receive a great deal of attention in the automotive sector.

Pegase Spooling Line Drew Attention

Calemard® is one of the leading suppliers in the production of slitters and rewinders and provides quality and highly technical solutions for textile and nonwoven actors. Meeting all the slitting needs of the machine, the firm can convert the secondary cylinder into a narrow strip or into the tubes up to the width of 6 mm. Rewinding up to an operational width of 3-4 m, the machine spools the line over the bobbin for a narrow production. Owing to the modular design, standard slitter-rewinders or optional adaptations can be applied. Integrated or separate solving elements present many slitting practices and contact technology solutions according to their materials (cold, hot, combined or ultrasonic).

Among the technologies preferred in the production of sensitive nonwovens, Calemard ® has presented Pegase Spooling Line was the most outstanding one. It is stated that this technology is especially suitable for using in the production of napkins and feminine care. Providing a high efficiency, the line eliminates the human factor and guarantees perfect production. Increasing its productivity by 28 %, the machine increases the quality with such products as reliable network consultancy, rapid and perfect production and metal detector as well as the ergonomic unit.

An experience of 30 Years; Decoup+

Another production department of Spoolex Group companies is Decoup+. Exhibiting the products of this group in the fair, the firm established successful ties. Designing and manufacturing ultrasonic slitting, coating and uniting solutions for textile sector, Decoup+ can apply its equipments to the textile and nonwoven fabrication processes easily. These highly compact modules can be integrated into the existing production systems easily and facilitate the production process in addition to increasing the quality of end products. Decoup+ develop equipments which have a modular structure that can be integrated into stenters or off-line machines including portable devices and weaving looms for end operations. Following the successful edition at IDEA, Spoolex (Calemard(R) will participate in EDANA International Nonwoven Symposium in Russia on May, 15. The firm will share important information about the optimization of complete spooling process in this event.
