BSCI, a special standard launched by the Brussels-based Foreign Trade Association (FTA), encourages the ILO (International Labour Organization) to rely on labour and labour safety standards and promote the continuous improvement of the social performance of the supply chain. Companies receiving high scores from this audit are considered as business partners by the world’s big companies because they can certify sustainable working conditions at the international standards.
Zorluteks, Zorlu Tekstil's production facility in Lüleburgaz, has achieved a significant success by receiving "Very Good" which is the highest score received from BSCI with its sustainable working conditions. This high score received from BSCI will give Zorluteks the opportunity to strengthen its international business partnerships and to increase its exports as an internationally preferred company. Zorluteks's high score received from BSCI supports the export of the company and strengthens its international business partnerships.
The Best in 13 Criteria
In BSCI audit, 13 different criteria such as "Social Management System and Shower Effect”, “Employee Participation and Protection”, "Rights under the Freedom of Organizing and Collective Bargaining Agreement“, ”Non-Discrimination“, "Fair Pricing”, ”Eligible Working Hours“, ”Occupational Health and Safety“, "Child Labour", "Special Protection for Young Workers”, "Illicit Employment", "Forced/bonded labour and precarious employment", "Environmental protection", "Ethical business behaviour", are evaluated.
Stating that Zorluteks, which aims to provide the best for its employees at all times, once again confirmed its success in the international arena with the highest score obtained from this audit of BSCI, Cemil Çiçek, General Manager of Zorluteks, said that: “The BSCI audit conducted by SGS, an internationally accredited company, clearly demonstrates the level at which we are in creating sustainable working conditions. We have come up smelling like a rose from this audit conducted on a wide range of areas ranging from compliance with occupational safety laws to working hours, from compensations to advocacy of child labour, and the elimination of all forms of discrimination. The score that we received showed once again that Zorluteks's factory in Luleburgaz is human-oriented and shaped by a business model that offers the best for the employees. We are aware that the main force behind Zorluteks, which waves our country's flag by exporting products of international quality to several countries around the world, is the human resource. To this end, we will continue to work to improve our sustainable working conditions and to maintain the best score we have received from BSCI in the coming years.
