It was filed in a report that following the eartquake which were composed of 6.912 aftershocks with a low magnitude and with eight of them with a magnitude of over 5.5, another earthquake was felt around Hatay region with a magnitude of 6.3 on 20th of February, which all affected over 14 million citizens whom are residing in 11 cities and pushed 1.2 million citizens away from their living areas. The purpose of the report was to make an early and preliminary estimation about the direct damage of the earthquake, and further underlined that the earthquake is projected to cause $34.2 billion worth of damage, which corresponds to approximately 4% of Turkey's GDP, with the damage to residential buildings account for $18 billion, with the damage to non-residential buildings at around $9,7 billion, and with the damage to the infrastructure estimated at nearly $ 6,4 billion.
