China Now Wants Products with High Added Value
Serap Ulu stated that, as Konak Fashion Fabrics, they focus on export, mane production for both European and American markets and have important and long-term investments in America, in particular. Ulu added that: “We mainly manufacture for Europe. We have an important investment in America for a long time now and we take feedbacks for our products from our clients at such fairs. As the products that we sell to America are manufactured in China, that’s why we are here.”
Stating that they had contacts with local brands of China in the fair that they took part previously, Ulu said that: “Chinese brands now prefer products with high added value rather than typical and cheap products.” This is the sign of an important mentality change experienced in the Chinese textile sector.
What Distinguishes Us from European Brands is Our Product Categories
Ulu stated that they meet with many European participants including the Italians and the French, in particular, at the fairs held in Far East and added that: “When we compare ourself with the European brands, our product categories and collection presentations differ. This is what distinguishes us from the others.”
Stating that their production capacity is around 750 thousand meters per month, Serap Ulu reported that, according to the recent sales figures, they export 70 % of their production and sell 30 % of their production to the internal market exporting ready-made sellers.
