We are doing our investments to Kahramanmaraş

Kipaş Holding one of Turkey's most important companies, stands always one step ahead with 30 years of experience in production quality, efficiency, advanced technology and the importance given to social responsibility projects. Kipaş Holding companies, entered Turkey's largest 500 industrial companies rank for the first time in 1991 announced by Istanbul Chamber of Industry, the company continues to maintain this tradition. Founded in 1984, today Kipaş Holding is one of the largest groups in Turkey due to its number of factories, with the export performance it has reached it is now one of the companies with the most export in Kahramanmaraş.

Last year Kipaş Holding reached the number of 400 thousand spindle ring, 20 thousand rotor open-end, also produces in several textile arms besides spinning. 220,000 square meters closed area with 475 weaving machines, with a total of 8000 employees in all sectors, Kipaş which performs annually 20 million metres non-denim and 30 millon metres denim production, is the talk of the name in the international market. Kipaş fabric production facilites accounted Turkey's 10 percent annual yarn production alone, fabrics produced by all fibers group especially cotton owns a rich product portfolio. At the same time, the group which also invests in cement and energy sector, targets 400 thousand paper production per year. Kipaş which has done in Turkey its second large investment in this field, aims to bridge the gap in this area.

"We can’t stay insensitive to developments"

Kipaş Holding Chairman and TOBB High Coordination Board member Hanefi Öksüz, specified that they continue to work in the textile industry for 30 years. Öksüz expresses that they use countinous-saving and enviroment-friendly technologies in their businesses, also drew attention that they constantly do modernization works and thereby they increase their capacity, they don't remain insensitive to market developments. Öksüz;" In Kahramanmaraş Organized Industrial Zone we have insested ring spinning almost 150 thousand spindles. Here we are making different concept and production in various mixtures. We would like to consider the proportion of Turkey's serious deficit in technical textiles with  modern fibers. As we plan our investments for medium and short term, we have moved qality and useful products that Turkey needs in the field of technical textiles.”

Öksüz who mentions that Kahramanmaraş is in the 5th region in incentives, he also mentioned some of the deficiencies about the incentives given to regions. “In my opinion, I believe incentives should be given to cities that are successful with the field they chose. For example, this city succeeded in spinning. Incentives should be given according to that. Because the industry established here according to that, qualified personnels were trained according to that. These should be considered when the region incentive is given. In this way advanced or developing sectors will develop more."

We have investments in non-textile”

Öksüz who stated that currently they are investing in non-textile, also saying that they are investing in energy, paper and cement sectors, “In 2011, an additional tax on imported yarn application was brought. In 2012, in an unexpected way this decision was abandoned and it directly affected us. Turkey is not in a position to overcome its own competitive power, it has to protect its own industry and manufacturer. If the state will allow to enter duty-free products, to compete in international area the energy cost which the Turkish industrialist suffered from most, it should allow to breathe in restricted areas such as imported products, of course this should be based on market conditions.”

Kipaş Holding's turnover exceeds 1 billion dollar says Hanefi Öksüz, also expressed through Ken, Kiper and Karen Group of Companies their investments intended in geothermal energy. Öksüz, made statements about investmet projects in the future. Öksüz continued, "We have three investments in geothermal field. As Karen, Ken Energy and Kiper Energy, we seek to build build production sites there. Our Maren Energy company is currently operation and continuing to produce. Ken Energy will start its production in the second half of 2014. Kiper, I think, will begin its geothermal production at the end of 2014. Karen Energy aims to go into production in 2015.”
