In the textile sector, the machine groups' export volumes have decreased and the other groups' export volumes increased in 2012. Bangladesh, Azerbaijan and India are in the first place for the machine groups' exports volumes recorded, and, the intensive export volume were recorded in Germany, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia for the other groups' export volumes. According to the data provided from Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI), the machine groups' exports volumes decreased by 3.22 percent in compared to the previous year. An export volume of $ 281 583 million was recorded in total. In the textile industry in 2012, according to the data of Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), an export volume of more than U.S. $ 27 500 million was recorded for the groups other than the machine groups with an increase of 1.1 per cent compared with the previous year. For the textiles and raw materials, the exports volumes declined in compared to 2011. According to the export volumes, the leather and leather products, and the carpet products increased by 8,50 and 23.55 percent, respectively. On the other hand, the ready to wear and apparel sector's export volumes declined by 0,38 percent.
Bangladesh Is the First
In 2012, only 180 072 million dollars of the export volume, which were recorded for machine groups in total, were recorded for the machines which are used for the processes of fabric washing, cleaning, drying, ironing, winding and folding the weaving yarns which is known with the number 84.51 in GTIP( Customs Tariff Statistics Position). According to the previous year, Bangladesh became the country which record the most exporting volumes, with 13.746 million dollars, in these machine groups which increased by 23.91 percent. Iran and India follow Bangladesh with their export volumes of 5.909 abd 4.604 billion dollar, respectively. With an decrease of 43.05 percent, an export volume of 30.159 million dollars was recorded in the machine groups about the preparation, spinning, folding, bending of the fiber and the preparation of yarns which is suitable for woven known in GTİP with the number 84,45. In this group, Ethiopia is the first place with $ 4838 million, Iran is the second and the China is the third. An export volume of 27.340 million dollars was recorded with a decrease of 17.03 percent in the auxiliary machinery, equipment and spare-parts (jacquard, comb, producing nozzles, platinum and needle) for the textile machines known in GTİP with the number 84,48. In this group, the most exporting countries were Belgium, Ethiopia, and the United States of America. 16.208 million dollars was recorded with the decrease of 10, 96 percent in the sewing machines; furniture,table and enclosures designed for sewing machines; and, sewing machine needles groups. In this respect, export volumes were recorded as follows; 2131 million dollars for Egypt, 1.671 million dollars for the Russian Federation; 752 713 thousand dollars for Trakya Free Zone. An export volume of 14 857 million dollars was recorded with an decrease of 22.26 percent in such products as knitting, sewing and gimped yarn, tulle, lace, known with the number 84.47 in GTİP. In this respect, Uzbekistan took first place and Germany followed it. In the weaving machines (looms) group which is known with the number 84,46, an export volume of 9,489 million dollars was recorded with the decrease of 36,38 percent. India was the first with 2459 million dollars, Egypt was the second, and the Bangladesh was the third. With the 84,44 GTİP number, the machine and equipment group which is for the processes of the extrusion, withdrawal and texturing of synthetic or artificial textile materials, an export volume of 2.223 million dollar was recorded by decrease of 68,15 percent in compared to 2011. In this group, Iran, France and China were among the most exporting countries. The machines and devices group, whose GTIP number is 8449, about manufacture of felt or nonwovens or finishing ; an export volume of 1.230 million dollars was recorded with the increase of 144,085 percent in hat patterns. $ 820,619 milllion of this figure was recorded in Iran. This figure was followed by Bulgaria and Germany.
Germany's Export Volumes Declined
According to the export reports of TIM; the export volume of garment and apparel was recorded as 16.088 billion dollar when the export data of 2012 are analyzed in terms of the country. In this group, Germany was the first although the export to Germany decreased by 21,44 percent in compared to the previous year. 2In compared to 2011, 13,76 percentto United Kingdom and 8,91 percent of export volume to Spain was recorded. The export volume to France and the Netherlands declined 6,44 percent and 5,33 percent, respectively. The export volume recorded in leather and leather products group was recorded as 1.605 billion dollar. In this context, Russia was the biggest exporter. The27,18 percent increase of export volume to this country stood out. This volume was followed by Italy although the decrease of 7,94 percent in previous year. The export to Germany recorded within the scope of this group declined by 6,59 percent while it increased to Iran by 5,35 percent. The export volume to France decreased by 4,46 percent.
The Export Volume to Libya Increased
In 2012, in the carpet group, an export volume of 2.011 billion dollar was recorded. In this context, the export volumes to Saudi Arabia and Iraq increased by 16,59 and 9,89, respectively, in compared to the previous year. In the same group, the export volumes to the United States and Libya increased by 9,16 percent and 6,50 percent, respectively; but, this volume decreased by 4,95 percent to Germany. In the group of textiles and raw materials, an export volume of 7.849 billion dollar was recorded. The Russian Federation stood out as the most exporting country in this group. The export to this country increased by 14,45 percent in compared to the previous year. In compared to the previous year, the export volumes to Palestine and Germany decreased by 8,79 and 5,24, respectively. In the same group, the export volumes to United Kingdom decreased by 3,81 percent while it increased to USA by 3,63 percent in compared to the previous year.
General Situation in Exportation
According to the statement made by TSI, an export volume of 152.536 billion dollar was recorded in Turkey in 2012. According to the provisional foreign trade data created by the Ministry of Customs and Trade and TSI, an export volume of 11.509 million dollar was recorded in January 2013. In this respect, an increase of 11.2 per cent was achieved in compared to the same month of the previous year. In January 2013, an export volume of 1.052 million dollar was recorded to Germany , the increase of 2,4 percent in compared to the the same period of the previous year stood out. According to these data, in January, Germany was the first in January, Iraq was the second with the export volume of 884 million dollar, England was the third with the export volume of 664 millon dollar and the United Arab Emirates was the fourth with export volume of the 614 million dollars.
