Vectorial drawings which were prepared by inspiring from the motifs of laces having an important place at Turkish culture gave life to the digital printing patterns. Patterns being inspired from laces by Assistant Professor S. Çiğdem Koçak from Nişantaşı University Design Faculty Lecturer met with digital printing technologies. Assistant Professor S. Çiğdem Koçak who gave a brand- new form to the laces introduced her designs printed with the support of BTS Dijital Baskı at the exhibition called “Reflections From Tradition”.
Assistant Professor S. Çiğdem Koçak who shared her happiness from the laces that is one of the most precious handcraft to carry on our present day which have been reflecting the Anatolian people’s cultural identity for centuries, gave place the following statements; “Lace can be defined as a fine language for women to doll, garnish and tell their dowery feelings for centuries. With the aim of keeping alive and sustaining the motifs of our laces by sticking to the origin and protecting our cultural values, they loom large. So laces need to be as a vital existence and continue to add grace to our lifes either clothes or decorative objects by making them appropriate to the present day’s understanding.”
Mrs. Koçak who stated that she designed digital printing patterns by inspiring from the motifs of laces and by benefiting from the vectorial drawings of these motifs for the exhibition, said “I dedicate this exhibition to the all nameless artists who contribute simple for the art.”
