HOMETEX Home Textile and Accessories Fair, which is among the world's largest fairs in the home textile industry, will open its doors on the May 17 at Istanbul Expo Center. HOMETEX, a joint organization between Turkish Home Textile Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TETSİAD) regarded as the umbrella organization of the industry and between KFA Fair Company that is an affiliation of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), will welcome industry professionals from world regions between 17-21 May.
The opening cocktail will be held at 17:00 at the fairground, which will be accessible to visitors from morning onwards on Tuesday, May 17. During the event, T.C. Minister of Trade Mehmet Muş will take part in with a speech that will be participated by presidents of exporter union associations and industry representatives such as Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) President Şekib Avdagiç, Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) President Erdal Bahçıvan, Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) President İbrahim Burkay, Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Business People Association (TETSİAD) President Hasan Hüseyin Bayram, Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association (UTİB) President Pınar Taşdelen Engin, Istanbul Textile and Raw Material Exporters' Association (İTHİB) President Ahmet Öksüz and Denizli Exporters' Association (DENİB) President Hüseyin Memişoğlu.
The theme of “sustainability” will be the main topic this year at the fair, which regarded as the gateway of the Turkish home textile industry to the world nations, with an annual export capacity of 3.1 billion dollars. A wide range of product groups such as curtains, curtain accessories, tulle, upholstery fabric, kitchen and dining room textiles, towels and bathroom group products, sleeping and bedroom textiles will meet in the "Areas of Inspiration" to be exhibited at HOMETEX, which will be held on a total area of 200 thousand square meters in 11 halls. In the "Designer Boxes", which will be formed by the leading designers of Turkey, the designers will compose the products of the companies with their own creations.
