KTM 2022, which was held for the ninth time this year by ECR Fuarcılık, hosted nearly 100 exhibitor companies. Within the scope of the fair, besides national and international technology manufacturers from the textile industry, service and spare part providers and accessory manufacturers became together with visitors consisting of industry assembly, union and associations and representatives as well as textile manufacturers. The 3 day fair held under the home ownership of Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KMTSO) that shared the same timetable with the International Textile Summit (UTZ)
Regional Textiles Showed Intense Interest to the Fair
Organized for the ninth time this year, KTM2022 was visited by 8,921 sector representatives from cities where the textile industry predominates such as from Gaziantep, Adana, Kayseri, Malatya, Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, Uşak, Bursa and Denizli, and especially from Kahramanmaraş.
"Capital of Textiles"
Speaking at the opening of the fair, Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KMTSO) President Şahin Balcıoğlu said, “Having regard as the capital of textiles in Turkey, Kahramanmaraş continues to grow in this field by each passing day. Kahramanmaraş now has reached a position in which it can produce the machinery used in this industry apart from textiles. We witness that our fair, which we organize in this area, is growing by each passing year. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our International Kahramanmaraş Textile Machinery Fair, which we organized for the 9th time this year, and I wish that our fair will bring benefit to our city, to our country and to the textile industry.”
“We Are One of the Leading Cities in Textile”
Speaking at the opening program, The Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Hayrettin Güngör said, “As we always say, our Kahramanmaraş is a very historical and memorable site. It plays a leading role in many industries. Textile is surely one of them which has evolved from cotton to yarn, weaving, dyeing and ready-made clothing. Thanks to the efforts of entrepreneurs and our compatriots, textile has reached to an extremely important position in our city. Kahramanmaraş is one of the cities that use the incentives it receives 100% in accordance with its purpose. This is a source of pride for us. With Allah’s will in mind, we have reached a very important stage in this industry. Also, a large part of our city's exports consist of textiles and products based on it."
"We Will Increase Our Exports"
President Güngör continued his speech as follows, “Our factories, which operated in a very limited area in the past, now continuing its work in much larger areas. We continue our work to further expand this area. Islah has become an area where we added more value with Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ). Thanks to the intense efforts of our city protocol, we have given birth to these Islah OIZ’s. With Allah’s hope in mind, in the coming period, we will bring new investment areas to our city together with our deputies, our organization and our protocol. In this way, we will also increase the exports of our city.”
"Our Fair May Bring Benefit"
Güngör concluded his speech with the following, “We attach great importance to the fact that textile machinery is domestic and some of them are produced in our city in order to reduce the input costs in and foreign dependency of textiles. We have a quite large amount of domestic machinery. At the point of increasing this rate, serious efforts are being made in our country under the leadership of our President. We also know that fairs are extremely important in terms of following and encouraging new developments in this field. Therefore, we attach great importance to the organization of this fair in Kahramanmaraş as well, that is one of the leading cities of the textile industry. I wish that our Textile Machinery Fair, which we organized for the 9th time this year, will bring benefit to our city, to our country and to the sector. I would like to thank all of our entrepreneurs for their efforts.” Following the protocol talks, opening took place with the ribbon cutting.
