With the cooperation of Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association (UTİB) and Ready-to-Wear, Apparel and Textile Exporters' Associations from different regions of Turkey, in organization with the TİM coordinators and with the support of T.C. Ministry of Commerce, within the scope of Athleisure Challenge Active Wear Design Competition, a visit also achieved to Yeşim Group. In total, 38 trainees from textile engineering and fashion design departments of 20 different universities were invited as guests to Yeşim and were present at the special program hosted by Yeşim Group Board Member Mustafa Demiralay that also participated by the UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin.
While speaking at the opening of the event that held in the Great Conference Hall, Mustafa Demiralay said that students will have the chance to practice production stages in real environment at Yeşim that are normally taught in theory within the scope of the program. Demiralay underlined the importance of visiting processes altogether to see their process demonstration in the industrial field and said, “It will be extremely efficient to access on-site information about how the whole chain in a bigger system operates with more employees and how it proceeds. We will update our existing know-how with our technical visits. I wish everyone a productive day in advance.”
Following the speech of Demiralay, Yeşim Group Social Compliance Manager Ahmet Öztürk informed the participants about Yeşim's sustainability approach. While underlining that the concept of sustainability that defines sustainability in production, sustainability in manpower, and sustainability in the world, Öztürk said, ''These concepts are inseparable each other. Every piece carries out vital importance for us. Therefore, we should direct our works to satisfy every piece and we should touch the society and the world with these works.’’ Öztürk continued, “On the other hand, we are one of the first companies to receive the SA-8000 certificate, which is one of the most challenging, comprehensive and detailed programs to obtain in the social compliance process. With this aspect, we provide consultancy to many companies in the industry regarding social compliance standards, and share our work with them. Yeşim continues its pioneering role in the sector in this respect as well.”
