The National Textile and Apparel Council of China (CNTAC) stated that Chinese textile companies have increased their cooperation with the countries involved in the Belt Road Project. CNTAC plays an important role in the signing of projects in overseas investments by establishing international platforms.
Capacity to be increased
According to the CNTAC data, between 2015 and 2018, more than 80 percent of the global investments of Chinese textile and apparel companies made to the Belt Road countries. Gao Yong, the secretary of the Council, said that they plan to invest countries in the coming years and that they will increase their capacity even further also in the Belt Road.
Target Point is Turkey
Turkey's strategic position as a bridge between Asia and Europe, the rapid growth of industrialization, skilled workforce and trade ties with several companies in China, the country's development in the coming years in the Belt and Road Project will make a port and trading point. The trade volume between China and Turkey in the last five years total $ 100 billion, while finding infrastructure in both countries, energy, services, agriculture, made even more cooperation in sectors such as textiles and apparel. China opened a freight train line from Lianyungang to Istanbul in November 2018 to further develop bilateral trade. The train, which passes through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia to Istanbul, has further strengthened its logistics network that connects Asia and Europe.
