According to the figures published by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the textile and raw materials industry, which achieved an export value of more than 868 million dollars in March last year, reached 953 million dollars in exports with an increase of 9.7 per cent in the same period of this year. In January-March 2022, the textile and raw materials industry achieved an export volume of 2 billion 650 million dollars with an increase of 13.1 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. In this way, the industry has experienced the highest export figures of all time in the first quarter. Besides, 346 million dollars of the industry's exports last month was made from Istanbul. In the same category, İstanbul was followed by Gaziantep with 172 million dollars and by Bursa with 114 million dollars.
The Industry Achieved Highest Exports to Italy
In the textile and raw materials industry, Italy was the country with the highest export volume last month, with 106 million dollars. Italy was followed by the USA with 53 million dollars and Spain with 51 million dollars. When we look at the country groups with the highest exports last month, EU nations lead others with 425 million dollars that followed by African nations with 146 million dollars and by Middle Eastern nations by 73 million dollars. Exporting to 167 countries and regions in March, the textile and raw materials industry entitled to 4.2 per cent share of the country's total exports in the same period.
