Teksel Tekstil, which is an agency of knitting, finishing and packaging machineries and which supplies spare parts and technical yarns, displayes a rapid growth despite the fluctuations in the sector. The company that was established in 1989 in order to supply technical service and spare parts for every kind of knitting machine, changed its name officially to Teksel Tekstil Ürünleri Pazarlama San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti in 2007. The company that moved to its new office area in 2009, continued to provide service with 25 sales and marketing staff and 15 technical service staff. The company that has located its stock house and spare parts in Tekstilkent, has increased its efficiency with the spare parts and technical services it supplies in sales and aftersales and with the machineries it represents. In 2006, Teksel started to sale Statex silver plated staple fibers, yarns and fabrics.
After participating in ITMA Barcelona in September, the company, which grows very rapidly, moved its headquarters to Güneşli Bağcılar in October to meet the demands it receives. The company is representing the brand Monarch in knitting machinery, Matsuya in flat knitting machinery, Biancalani, Color Service ,Saspe, MTG in finishing machinery and Tinarelli and New Mec in packaging machinery. It also sales the Statex yarns and is the distributor of Samsung, Monarch and BTSR. We talked to Mustafa Ateş, who is one of the partners of Teksel Tekstil, about the works of the company and the brands it represents.
We Moved to Become Closer to the Customers
Stating that they moved their headquarters to Güneşli in order to become closer to their customers, Ateş said that the spare parts segment in Tekstilkent continues its operations in Güneşli. Ateş continued his words by saying; “We think that we were even late to move our headquarters. However we’re happy to have made the right decision no matter it is late or not. We’ve benefited from moving our stocks in here. We’re really close to our customers here. We provide the products or services as soon as possible. We meet the customer and provide solutions within just 10 minutes.”
Ateş stated that in the course of time, they decided to expand Teksel, which was a side-business established in 1989 to engage in the fields of textile spare parts and yarns. Ateş underlined that 60 percent of the companies they represent, have been working with Teksel for a very long time. “We sell the knitting machines of Monarch and at the same time we’re distributor of the spare part of the same brand. In the field of finishing machinery, we’ve been working with Biancalani since 1990. They used to have a machine called AIRO24, now they have developed the new machine named BRIO. In Turkey and Uzbekistan, we’ve been the only authorized distributor of Samsung since 1990,the needles and sinkers for the circular, flat, socks, seamless and hosiery has been marketed and sold in these markets. Another company we represent is the control systems manufacturer BTSR, with which we work for 5 years. Statex, the products of which we sell in Turkey, is a significant brand in the world in the field of silver coated yarn, fiber and fabric production. The Italian based Saspe manufactures raising machines, grinding and shearing machines. The other brands that have recently became popular are Tinarelli and New Mec. Tinareli manufactures automatic packing and fixation machines for the hosiery sector. We have important customers especially from the hosiery sector. New Mec has been engaged in packaging and handling especially for the apparel sector. We have an ongoing relationship with MTG, of which a couple of machines we sell. However it does not have a broad business range, in our opinion,” said Ateş.
Ateş stated that ITMA Barcelona was a very successful fair for them and he added that in the fair they were granted the distributorship of Matsuya. Ateş remarked that although Matsuya, which manufacures every type of flat knitting, is a Japanese company, the machine erection are done in China.
New Monarch Knitting Machine Attracts Great Interest
Ateş underlined that Monarch is the only company in the world to manufacture the single and double knit garment electronic jacquard machines and the electronic needle position selection device, used in electronic jacquard machines, in its own factory. Ateş emphasized that the needle selection devices of the Monarch machines they’ve sold since 1992 are still running and they’ve not sold any spare needle selection devices. He added that they’ve sold just needles sinkers and jacks. Stating that they’re testing a new open width knitting machine of Monarch in an important textile company of Turkey, Mustafa Ateş remarked that the machine has already received the technical confirmation and they’ve sold 47 units of new open diameter machines.
Ateş said that the production of double-knit, lacoste and single jersey fabric with LYCRA® has become an unprofitable field and therefore with the advantages the new machine of Monarch provides, it is possible for this field to become profitable again. “The daily capacities of the existing old machines in the sector are no more than 500 kg. However, with our machine, the capacity amounts to 800 kg. At the same time less energy is consumed, a net increase of 50 percent is ensured in production and labor costs decrease. More importantly, thanks to the new yarn carrier system, almost no runs occur in the lycra. The blowing device and the take-up system of the machine have been completely re-designed. Although the machine is open width, it has a stunning visuality in size and dimension. This machine has been on sale since November and has been operated by some of our customers since then. Our high-powered MXC machine has been tested on the production of 30 pus 28 fine sheets and it has been observed that the daily single jersey fabric production capacity has reached 1000 kg,” said Ateş.
Monarch, A Leader in Quality and Innovation
Mustafa Ateş stated that you can win the competition in the machinery sector with the machines that make difference rather than the same types of machines. Ateş underlined that the customers demands are in the same direction. Ateş remarked that with its high quality, Monarch is a brand in great demand in the knitting sector however that the prices change according to the Exchange rate of the Yen. Ateş said that they sold a significant amount of machines when the Yen was at reasonable levels and they made a sacrifice and continued the business even when the Yean was at its peak. “Monarch’s production center is in Japan. In line with the agreement based on 60 years of a common past between Monarch and the Japan based Fukuhara, 120 kinds of circular knitting machine within the production program of Fukuhara, are marketed in Europe, Russia, America and South Africa by Monarch, which also provides the technical service,” said Ateş.
Teksel’s Machinery Sales Increased
Ateş stated that they expect the Turkish textile sector will expand its share within the global market. Ateş added that in order to increase their competitive power, many companies have made new machinery investments and consequently an increase has taken place in the machinery sales.
Ateş remarked that in addition to Monarch, the machinery sales have increase with Biancalani and that they’ve sold 9 units of Airo24 in the recent period. “These brands preferred especially by the upholstery and towel manufacturers, are also preferred by the factories in Denizli and Bursa. These companies used to use different machinery brands however they were consuming too much electricity. Our customers observed that the electricity consumption per a kilo of fabric decreased by 50 percent with Biancalani Airo 24. The last time we sold this machine to Özdilek at ITMA Barcelona,” said Ateş and added that with the new BRIO finishing machine, the residual shrinkage rate of the fabrics declined to almost 1 percent and that at the beginning of 2012, the machine will be tested in a big company in Turkey
Stating that they’ve taken a major step with Samsung, Ateş said that with this brand, they’ve increased their market share by 15 percent within the last 2 years. Ateş remarked that the needles, manufactured for the machines of 28 gauge, received appreciation and that Samsung has developed itself also in the transfer knitting needles. Ateş stated that for that reason, they’ve established a seperate department and added; “Compared to the previous year, we’ve achieved an increase of more than a hundred percent. We visit the companies and conduct tests. In the market we’ve almost 15 dealers, through which we follow the business.”
Ateş said that they’ve achieved an important development with the yarn quality control systems manufacturer BTSR, within the last 2 years. Ateş added that they make a good job with the technical services and the after sales services they provide. Ateş stated that in addition to the important hosiery companies, they work with the yarn companies. He remarked that BTSR’s Winding Feeder, which provides a constant feeding for the yarn during the transfer, receives great demand for it eliminates the faults in the yarn. “Our technical service is working just like a tailor for BTSR and we can provide solutions to the problems related with LYCRA® feeding,” said Ateş.
