Mustafa Ateş, one of the partners of Teksel Tekstil, stated that in 2011, a significant increase took place in the sales of circular knitting and finishing machines. Ateş added that the shrinkage experienced in the machinery sales in 2010 did not continue in 2011. Stating that they expect this development to continue in 2012, Ateş remarked that they decided to back up their sales team. “The circular knitting, knitwear, hosiery, needle and lifter sales demonstrated a higher increase than expected. Besides we observed an increase in finishing, packaging and wrapping sales,” said Ateş.
Ateş listed the companies represented by Teksel Tekstil and their product ranges; “Monarch circular knitting machines, Matsuya collar and tricot machines, Tinareli socks packaging machines, Newmac packaging machines, MTG fabric opening machines, Monarch needles and lifters, Samsung needles and lifters, Statex silver fiber yarn and fabric.” Ateş stated that in 2011, Monarch Biancalani and Tinarelli stand out with their sales and Monarch and Samsung increased their market shares in needles and lifters. “Thanks to our high-speed products of advanced technology and superior technical features, our share in the market of high-quality circular knitting machine has increased,” said Ateş.
Energy-Efficient Machines Stood Out
Stating that productivity and energy saving are the main elements of modernization, Ateş said that the circular knitting companies intend to replace their plain jersey machines with a capacity of 450-500 kilos of lycra fabric with the Monarch machines with a capacity of 750-800 kilograms. Ateş underlined that the companies record very low values in electricity and labour costs. Ateş mentioned the developments in the jacquard and ringel segments by saying; “There is a demand for our jacquard and non-jacquard machines with single plate, which are capable of working with 3 and 6 colors at the same time. Besides it is observed that there is a great demand for our quilting machine that can manufacture fabric for mattresses.”
2012 Will be a Better Year
Mustafa Ateş emphasized that it seems that compared to the previous year, 2012 will be a better year with the new machines they put on the market. Ateş remarked that the measures taken by the government about the imported textile products accelerated the Turkish textile sector and the machinery investments in this sector. Ateş added that the changes done on the newly implemented incentives will support this process.

Mustafa Ateş stated that in 2011, most of the investments – except a couple of projects - were made through modernization and that an increase took place especially in the sales of jacquard, ringel and transfer machines instead of the machines that produce plain (low cost) fabrics in the circulat knitting market. Ateş remarked that in the field of finishing, the towel companies increased the investments, through which they can make energy savings.
