Suessen Introduced its Compact Solutions

Suessen, who develops compact equipments for spinning machines, has presented a variety of technological innovations from “fiber to yarn” since 1920. The company exhibited her products on the same booth and in power alliance with the Swiss Bracker and Graf, and with Novibra, based in Czech Republic. Suessen supplies all the components required by spinning technology producers with these three sister companies under the name of Premium Textile Components (PTC), an independent structure.

Defined as the market leader in compact ring spinning machine and rotor spinning technologies, Suessen creates a difference by giving importance to new investments and R&D studies. After the integration of Suessen’ s machine production segment to Rieter,  the company totally focused on subjects such as compact systems, drafting systems, spare parts and modification for open-end spinning machines. Among the technologies Suessen developements are; TwinDiscs for OE-Rotor SpinBoxes, SE Serial Spinboxes for Autocoro Rotor Spinning Machines SE7-SE 10’ s, HP-SpinSets for ring spinning machines and EliTe®Compact Spinning systems.

Among the technologies that the company exhibits in İstanbul; there are EliTe®CompactSet V5, ACP Quality Package equipped with new PINSpacer NT, Premium Parts – Spinning Components and Spare with CPS – COT Protect System. Joining on to ring machines, EliTe®CompactSet attracts great attention because of its ability to produce both single (EliTe) and double compact yarn (EliTwist). Drafting process of PINSpacer with active cradle was strengthened more due to interfiber friction. The new CPS – COT protection system extends the lifetime of top roller cots at man-made fiber ring machine and decreases the maintenance and repair rate of active cardle unit.

We made an interview with Ioannis Spiridopulos, Senior Vice President of Suessen Marketing and Sales, and Kaan Atsu, Suessen Turkey Regional Sales Manager on the studies of the company, where there is a busy fair calendar. while Spiridopulos made global evaluations, Atsu handled the developments in Turkish market. The representatives emphasized that Suessen continued its growth last year.

2011 was a Perfect Year

Ioannis Spiridopulos, the Senior Vice President of PTC’ s Marketing and Sales, defines 2011 as a great year  and 2012 does not seem to become bad .  Spiridopulos stated; “When compared to 2011, this year , our expectations are being realized a little slower this year. Namely, there is a lower sight in our business volume and but anyway, it is not bad. Turkey is one of the biggest markets around the world. In our segment, it is the third biggest in the world”. Saying that they are expecting a strong market again from Turkey thoroughout 2012, Spiridopulos implied the Turkish government’ s precautions for protection against textile and yarn importation to provide positive contibution to regional industry. Because of that , business volume and trades will improve in Turkey, Spiridopulos argues, by adding: “We view Turkish market very positively for 2012.”

Reminding that Suessen is not a machine producer, but a component producer, Spiridopulos stated that they have investments parallel to this and they do their jobs in contentment. Emphasizing that they increased the quality in spinning machines with the technologies they developed, Spiridopulos added that they contributed to productibility.

Turks Demand Elite®Compact

Spiridopulos informs compact spinning to be a new technology and says: “When compared to 150-year ring technology, we are talking about an only 11-year-old technology. There are a lot more opportunities and possibilies developing in this field. Elite®Compact has shown a great development and got stronger in the market. System includes Compact Spinning which was wholly developed by Suessen and totally new. It creates difference with its drafting system. Namely, looking back on the last 10 years, you can just see the development and difference in the system”.

Explaining that Turkish spinners paid great attention to Elite®Compact after the ITMA Barcelona exhibited in September 2011, Spiridopulos said: “In the fair and afterwards, demand on Elite®Compact has become clear and agreement for the big projects in Turkey was provided. So, we manage to widely introduce our Elite®Compact to the Turkish market”.

We asked Spiridopulos about the rising quality perceptions of Turkish textile producers and in this context what sort of a demand this creates. He defined Suessen as as technology leader in this field. He continued: “As Suessen, we are working for keeping this leadership. We decided to invest on sales, service and human in Turkey. Service is very important for us . So, we will set up our own service in Turkey. Our stocks will be here and we will provide rapid and direct service to customers. We regard sales and after sales service as a whole. When we combine our leading technology position with our service priority, I believe we have a big advantage in comparison to our competitors.

Cost Advantage in Europe, Quality Advantage in Asia

Spiridopulos made some evaluations about Turkish textile’ s competitive force within the global market, saying that Turkey is in much better situation as Italy, Spain and Greece in textile industry  5 years ago. He regarded Turkey as having many agvantages when compared to other European countries and developing in these terms, by adding: “Turkey has its own cotton production. This local cotton is a big advantage. After that comes the government’ s support for textile and spinning mills. On the other hand, Turkey’ s biggest advantage when compared to European countries is low working cost, a good know-how. Being geographically so close to Europe provides an advantage for the fabric buyers in Europe”. Spiridopulos, stating that Turkey had advantage by focusing on qualified production when compared to Asian producers such as India and China, argued that Turkey has a more competitive power in the spinning industry. He underlined that they see Turkey, with its production and investment force, as a correct market and business partner for themselves.

Antep and Maraş Come to Forefront

Kaan Atsu, Suessen Turkey Region Sales Manager, stated that apart from attracting attention from all the regions in Turkey, the Eastern region comes forth as the most important, where Antep and Maraş, remarkable for spinning production, is also included. Saying that Turkish producers especially choose Compact solution, Atsu continued: “We have customers from Aegean region as well as from the East. Söke, Torbalı and Çerkezköy are remarkable among these. Namely, we are continuing our work in all the points making textile and spinning production across Turkey”.  He added: “We are taking Compact technology to all regions. Now there are some projects that have begun, extension of some projects are continuing. Turkish producers are rapidly adapting to Compact projects. Being able to adapt Compact technology to the current system – facility is our biggest advantage. Instead of waiting for new machine and line, companies prefer to turn their existing facilities into Compact. In this context, there are many Turkish companies collaborating with Suessen”.

Atsu, pointing out that companies preferring modification instead of a scratch investment take back their investment costs in a shorter time, reminded that, on the other hand, the facitities improved by Compact technology has passed on to a more qualified production.

Atsu informed that especially fine numbered spinning production has turned into an advantageous field with the incentives and supports of government which were applied last year, emphasizing that this will contribute not only to Rieter and Zinser as machine producers, but also to the other companies. He said: “Hence, Turkey will seem as an attractive market also for machine producers in the Far Eastern market. But Turkish spinners continue to prefer us for original machines. As the 3rd and 4th biggest textile producers around the world, Turkey has a very good appearance in 2012”.

Stating Suessen to be among Premium Textile Components (PTC), Kaan Atsu informed that there are Bracker, Graf, Novibra and Suessen in this business group organization. He said that this umbrella organization reflects the power of 4 companies which are experts in production of all the needed equipments (  drafting system, ring, spindles, card-clothing, etc.), moving with the motto “from fiber to yarn”. Atsu added that PTC as an independent organization freely sells its products to both spinning mills and to all the spinning machine manufacturers.
