Söktaş Tekstil, which is one of the most important textile fabric manufacturers, introduced its collection with a successful presentation in Intertextile Beijing Apparel & Fabric Fair. The company, which is aiming to increase its power in the Far East market, made the usual negotiation with customers and it had the opportunity to meet new producers as well. Starting its activities in the sector in 1971, Söktaş Tekstil provides fabric supply to known fashion brands in the world. The company, which started to design its own collections since the early 2000s, has been operating its activities more than 40 years. The company having design center in Söke and showrooms in Istanbul creates its designs by estimating the future demand. The company export the vast majority of production to European-based companies and it also export for many countries such as America, New Zealand. Answering our questions in the fair, Söktaş Textile Marketing Director Burçin Durgun spoke about the company's studies and investments in India.
Stating that their studies are completely for the Indian domestic market, Durgun said: ''We also do presentations to apparel manufacturers in the region in terms of exportation. Besides, all production performed in our Indian company is shipped to Asia-Pacific region. In this respect, I can say that the investment in Indian factory is a very successful attempt.
Importance of Chinese Market
Expressing that their product portfolios are mainly for men's clothing, Durgun stated: ''Yarn-dyed, plain dyed shirting fabric production are among our most remarkable products. Our productions for the women's wear include more customized designs. In our new collection, it is possible to see jackets without liner and pants.'' Saying that they shaped their collections with the design team in the company and Italian consultants, Durgun stated that the results of the collections last 3-4 months and and that the most important issue is to meet the expectations with the results. Emphasizing that they always focus on the quality of products, Burçin Durgun underlined that they perform the production process by using the advantage of integrated facility.
Expressing that the company mainly conducts its studies in China which is the textile giant of the global market, Durgun concluded his speech as follows:”We closely follow the studies in the regions where world-famous brands conduct their activities. We started to see our products in these markets. We are pleased with the assessments made for our collections. The visitors participating to fair closely follow our collections. Despite the difficulties in the global market, we continue to increase our strength in the Far East market. I think that we will reach this goal in a short time.’’.
