KOSGEB both expanded the scope of the calls titled "Digitalization in the Manufacturing Industry" and increased the upper limits of their financial grants for manufacturing SME’s since 2019. In the new call, a competitiveness and efficiency module was added to the digitalization title. The upper limit, which was previously set as 1 million lira’s per business, was increased upto 2 million for digitalization. The upper limit of support for the newly added competitiveness and efficiency title was set out as 1.5 million lira’s. SME’s that meet the conditions can apply for calls that are open until January 11, 2023.
Announcement at the Award Ceremony
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank announced the new calls of KOBİGEL – SME’s Development Support Program at the InovaTİM Innovation Competition Award Ceremony within the scope of Turkey Innovation Week. While informing on his pleasure to share the good news about SME’s with the public, Minister Varank said, "Our ministry of KOSGEB, known as KOBİGEL, which is closely followed by our Small and Medium Enterprises, has a support program."
Digitalization in the Manufacturing Industry
While noting that they have re-launched the call for Digitalization in the Manufacturing Industry as of today in the SME’s Development Support Program, Varank said, “In this way, we will provide grants upto 2 million lira’s per each business to develop domestic digital technologies. Of course, we will also support our SME’s using these technologies that can be developed domestically. I invite all of our SME’s to apply for this support program via KOSGEB's website. I wish that this package we announced will be beneficial to all our manufacturers.”
Redesigned
KOSGEB, that brings in the focus of manufacturer SME’s digital transformation, also attaches importance on the increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of businesses. Within this context, KOBİGEL- SME’s Development Support Program was redesigned. Within the reach of support project, project proposal calls for 2022 that were on the same timetable with Bakan Varank’s statements were taken part in simultaneously. The first meeting of the organized calls were designed to manufacturer SME’s that have been implemented in smart digital technologies to its production processes or developing them with domestic capabilities. Under this heading, in the manufacturing industry, SME’s projects will be evaluated in the fields of Processing Big Data with Analytical Methods, and Internet of Things, and Industrial Robot Technologies, and Smart Sensor Technologies.
Two Million Lira’s Upper Limit
In addition, support will be granted to projects in the fields of Artificial Intelligence Based Cyber Physical Smart Factory Systems and Components, Cyber Security, Smart and Flexible Automation Systems, Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality Technologies. Technology-developing SME’s will access upto 2 million lira’s grants that divides into 900 thousand non-refundable and 1 million 100 thousand reimbursed. Manufacturing SME’s that incorporate these technologies into their production processes will be granted for 400 thousand non-refundable and 1 million 600 thousand reimbursed support; upto 2 billion lira’s in total.
Competitiveness and Efficiency
At the other meeting of the call, it was aimed to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of manufacturing SME’s. Within the scope of this call, machinery-equipment purchases will be supported. At the call to in which small and medium-sized enterprises can apply; personnel, software and service procurement expenses will also be involved within the scope of support. Businesses will be able to make use of a total of 1.5 million upper-limit support that can be accessed as 200 thousand non-refundable, and 1 million 300 thousand reimbursed grants.
