While the Covid19 pandemic continues to have its effect on the world economy, Turkish Textile Machinery Manufacturers are moving away from this fluctuation trend in the global economy by getting stronger. As such, machinery manufacturers continued at constant export growth in 2021 and progressively leaving pandemic behind.
According to TÜIK data, textile machinery manufacturers exports achieved a total of 302 million 236 thousand 035 dollars in the January-April period of 2021, that was around 195 million 763 thousand 142 dollars in the same period of 2020.
Textile and apparel machinery and accessories defined within the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Chart (GTIP) are listed in the Standard International Trade Classification in the GTIP. Within the framework of these categories, according to the data compiled from TÜİK, Turkish textile machinery manufacturers released an increase of 54.38 percent in total machinery exports in 2021 compared to the previous year; machinery used for washing, cleaning, drying, ironing, wrapping, folding etc. of textile products and woven yarns, fabrics as defined with GTIP 8451 number, with 254 million 990 thousand 495 dollars, these became the most exported machinery category in the first quarter of 2021.
Uzbekistan Effect
In the GTIP, machinery range from drawing and texturing synthetic or artificial materials suitable for weaving under the name of machines that produce, weave and cut fibers in textile materials with the number 8444 are to be present. It is shown that exports in this machinery group were 238 thousand 118 dollars in the first quarter of 2020. In the same period of 2021, a total of 227 thousand 606 dollars of exports were made. Uzbekistan was ranked amongst others the country with most of exports.
Increase in Fiber Preparation Machinery Exports
There was a significant increase in textile machines, which are in the category of machines for the preparation of fibers suitable for weaving, spinning, folding, twisting and preparation of yarns with code number 8445, according to the first quarter data of 2020. The export, which was around 12 million 508 thousand 116 dollars in the January-April period of 2020, was realized as 14 million 649 thousand 235 dollars in the same period of 2021. In this export category, where nearly 16 per cent increase was recorded in 2021, the most significant amount of export was made to Egypt with 198 thousand dollars.
Weaving machines (looms) are among the products with code 8446. According to the provincial quarter data of 2020, exports of 6 million 504 thousand 503 dollars were made in this category, with a small increase in exports in 2021 to 7 million 046 thousand 863 dollars.
Knitting, Tulle and Gripe Machines Exports Are On The Rise
Knitting looms, machines and various devices for the production of gripure, tulle, lace, net, specified in the GTIP list with the number 8447; Household circular knitting machines with floating needles, industrial circular knitting machines with spherical needles, household flat knitting machines, industrial flat knitting machines, household sewing-knitting machines, industrial sewing knitting machines, processing machines, tape and slipper machines, other tulle and lace machines are listed as. While the export figures of these items were 2 million 473 thousand 189 dollars in the January-April period of 2020, it was at heights of 7 million 547 thousand 858 dollars in 2021.
Increase in Exports of Textile Machinery Accessories at Record Level
8448 coded auxiliary machinery asked for parts as such auxiliary machinery, equipment and accessories-parts (jacquard, shuttle, comb, production nozzles, platinum, crochet etc.) for textile machines. In the first quarter of 2020, exports of textile machinery accessories were 8 million 019 thousand 867 dollars in total, while it is imperative that this figure increased dramatically by 80 percent in 2021 to 14 million 402 thousand 316 dollars.
Growing Interest in Felting Machinery
Machines and devices for the manufacture and finishing of felt or non-woven fabrics specified in the TÜIK data with the code 8449; In the export item of flat molds, it is said that more exports were made compared to last year. In this area, 294 thousand 055 dollars of exports were made in the first quarter of 2020, while this rate climbed to 3 million 371 thousand 662 dollars in 2021.
Most of our Exports go to England and Germany
While ending January-April 2020 period with an export figure of 165 million 725 thousand 294 dollars, machinery for washing, cleaning, drying, ironing, wrapping, folding etc. of the 8451 coded woven yarns and fabrics. these figures shown a significant increase in the same period of 2021 and reached 254 million 990 thousand 495 dollars of export. It was an increase of 53.86 percent compared to 2020.
With the code 8451, the UK ranks first with 47 million 824 thousand 376 dollars among the countries with the most of exports. Germany followed England with 37 million 648 thousand 890 dollars.
