“The Capital City of Textile; Merter, Precedent Project ”

Oliv Yapı Chairman Mr Ahmet Dokumacı stated that the ‘Real Merter Project’ would serve as a leading example for the textile industry and continued, explaining as follows: “ Our Project is richly blended and is unique in itself. As we tend to remark that Istanbul is the capital city of commerce, Merter accommodates as the capital city of textile. Merter is not only unique to Turkey, but also is a market that is known globally.  Via its centralized location, the ease of transportation, its prestigious shops and residences as well as the enrichment in social opportunities, we are offering our local textile manufacturers to take advantage of important topics, such as residence and investment.” Mr. Dokumacı, underlined that through this project, they would be providing Merter with the Brand value that it has always deserved. Stating that they would be eliminating the parking space problems encountered by the regional textile manufacturers, via the shopping mall, Mr. Dokumacı also added that they would be providing a significant opportunity for textile manufacturers who at the same time wanted to enhance their brands. Mr. Dokumacı quoted his wordings as, “ Our goal here is that; “Merter is a vast market for textile, however it has infrastructure problems. Due to the fact that we have seen and are also familiar with the region, we created a new vision for the concept. Following this vision, we would like to include entrepreneurs, peers and colleagues from the textile industry in to the system.”

“We Place Great Importance to The Project For Branding”

Mr. Dokumacı, emphasizing that the project, coming in to life, was to guide Merter in its urban regeneration process and continued as follows: “Urban regeneration, is a serious issue which the Republic of Turkey sees as its strategic mission.  There has to be model in front of them as they carry out this transitional phase. We are the model project. In this sense, we have heavily delved upon, how an international company should be like. We have calculated what would be needed in terms of infrastructure. Passing in front of this transformation should be a model. We have a project model. In this sense, we delve too much head that's how it should be an international company. We calculated what would be needed in terms of infrastructure. By means of infrastructure, we organized a project, envisaging in advance and even the 50 years beyond today, with respect to Merter’s transformation. The architect of the project is a worldwide architectural office. At the top level we have our apartments starting from 1+1 to 3+1, below we have our public notary, jeweler, parking lot, 3,700-pound and 2500-pound freight elevators, forklifts and with our embarkation-disembarkation points, in terms of logistics, this is a great project. Although it is intertwined as a central location, we have kept the numerical figures at a very low level. We are providing every aspect of convenience to our textile manufacturers who want to become a brand in the international arena. Our numerical figures have been minimized. Whoever plans on buying & investing here, shall likely make great profits.  The only distance between a person’s business place and living surrounding will be an elevator. For people who work in the area & want to remain in the district where as also seeking for prestigious venues, in the floors we have provided residences. Having all kinds of social facilities’, we are offering a living area with a swimming pool a fitness center and a tennis court. Via the Real Merter project, we will be raising Merter’s prestige level even higher.

“We Are Expecting Every Textile Manufacturer Who Want to Establish a Brand”

Aside from the rental and sales system undertaken at Real Merter, Mr. Dokumacı also stated that they had already developed a management system to deal with after sales services and said, “Real Merter will be a institutionalized model project. We have already established our management. As well as after sales services support, Real Merter Management will also be representing Merter at international fairs. Our biggest problem in terms of textile is the concept of branding. Hopefully we will also overcome this problem. In 10-20 years from now, we will be seeing outstanding Turkish Textile brands. We have rolled up our sleeves for this. We opened the door of an opportunity to the textile world. We have minimized our numbers. We have developed a project that will provide comfort & ease for people in terms of logistics and infrastructure. We are expecting all textile manufacturers and sellers who want to establish a brand, to Real Merter.”
