Morrison carries on with success in 2012

America North Carolina – based Morrison Textile Machinery, which is represented by Burteks Mümessillik in Turkey,  announced that the sales chart painted a positive picture in 2012. The company has a considerable power in denim preparation, dyeing and finishing technologies and weaving preparation and accessories in the global market. H.O. Bud Humphrey, vice-president of sales for Morrison Textile Machinery, gave specific explanations to Tekstil Dünyası. Reminding that they attended ITM Istanbul 2012, organized in April, Humphrey said that they demonstrated their latest technologies at ITMA - Barcelona in September 2011. Humphrey stated that they welcomed visitors at the booth of Burteks Mümessillik at ITM İstanbul. He added that they took part in ITMA - Barcelona with a powerful machinery.

Humphrey expressed that in addition to the rope dye lines with a capacity of 24 – 36, Spectrum S 250 rope dye line, a new generation line which has a capacity to process 32 rope production, was introduced. “Thus, a capacity to respond to today's denim trend was introduced. In addition, new generation rope winding machine MDS-BW 450was exhibited at ITMA - Barcelona by the company which continues to lead denim preparation machines. Programmable ball wind patterns, diagonal rope netting feature with the technology Smart – Lease, the feature that the machine does not stop in any way with a technique called Smart – stop are some of the unique features of the machine. These features increase the quality of post – production processes.” he said.

Humphrey reminded that another machine that was introduced to the sector was SLE-HED Washer, and he underlined that this product has an ergonomic design and provides high volume water distribution on angular water deflectors. Humphrey said that they presented recently-developed SanforTROL system to the visitors in Barcelona. He added that this system controls the shrinkage level and does the required machine settings automatically. “SanforTROL system has become universal with the feature that it can be adapted to all sanforizing machines.” said Humphrey.

2012 Continues Successfully

Emphasizing that these recently-developed machines drew intense interest in the global market, H.O. Bud Humphrey stated that they received positive feedback from many customers. He reminded that after the other manufacturing companies stopped their productions and Morrison included the Denim ( Ball Warper) Rope Winding and Rope Opening ( Rebeaming) machines in its production line after 2009, Morrison became the only company offering single source Indigo Rope Dye technologies. Stating that innovations for Indigo and denim textile process offered many advantages to manufacturers, Humphrey said: “ As Morrison, we adopt delivering the best quality to our customers as a principle. This includes offering strong technical equipment and superior software, and after-sales technical service. We have preserved our position and quality standards against intensifying price competition. In terms of the world's limited resources, in a period of rising environmental concerns, as a company we are dealing with sustainability, environment and production issues. We focused on using less water and producing less waste water in newly developed products. Therefore, especially in denim finishing process, manufacturers have cost advantages and they reduce the impact on the environment with water saving. Obviously, we are excited about the water and environment, we continue to develop new products.” Stating that their competitors were European firms, however, as Morrison they had technical superiority, Humphrey explained that while the frame of the European machines is 2 cm, this figure is about 4 cm in their machines.  Humphrey said: “The rollers of the European machines are coated with chromium-nickel whereas our machines are made of stainless steel. Due to the technical superiority our machines seem to be expensive than the European brands but considering the maintenance and spare parts requirements they are more economic in the long term.”

Turkish Market Continues Developing

Explaining that Morrison and its Turkish representative Burteks continued cooperation since 2003, Humphrey underlined that they are proud of Burteks. Humphrey stated that they attached great importance to constantly growing Turkish market, and he explained that the largest markets in 2012 were South America, Brazil, Turkey, Southeast Asia (Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India). Pointing out that Turkey was one of the biggest 5 markets, Humphrey added that sales continued in Turkish market after ITMA - Barcelona and during ITM Istanbul fair. Humphrey said that even though the effects of financial crisis in the world and especially in the developed countries continued, Turkish economy had a dynamic structure and kept growing. He added that they had a great confidence in Burteks, their representative in this growing market.

Stating that they were a leader in Turkish Market in rope winding and rope opening, Humphrey said that in 2012 they aimed sales over both the previous year and world market. “We came to ITM Istanbul fair in 2009. At ITM fair we saw that both the fair and the sector developed considerably. The interest we got in the fair period supports our sales targets for 2012 a the positive direction.” said Humphrey.
