The CEO of Mogul which is the first member of European Nonwoven Producers (Edana), Serkan Göğüş answered the question our questions about nonwoven sector.
The difference of Mogul is its product range
Serkan Göğüş who stated that they were carrying out manufacture with its 55.000 ton capacity on 13 manufacture line including spunbond, spunlace and meltblown process, also stated that they became a serious player at world’s scale with the breakthroughs which Turkish nonwoven sector done recently and said Mogul has an important position at sector and international marketplace as being the first manufacturer of extrusion based spunbond, melblown and SMS process. Göğüş said ‘’ For this subject, forecasting marketplace and fronting to this gives a big advantage. The returns from customers are important as well. Because, there is a saturated market for spunbond, meltblow and spunlace standard products. Anyone develops different things from each other. Therefore although there exist little differences on products, the most determinant for customer is price at many sector. We need to be realist, who gives cheaper, they prefer it. You made investment, you founded team, you give a worldwide service and these are appreciated but price becomes the first choice reason at home market. Our biggest specialty is to diversify product range and keep our quality on a certain level. We have special products which developed by us. There are others who make the similar but it doesn’t have the same quality”.
Sector has a narrowing
Göğüş who stated that there was a narrowing in the regions out of North America in 2015 said ‘’ In Euro region, Euro and dollar parity causes bother at competitive capacity. In spite of these, I predict that 2015 will generally obtain the close numbers with the numbers of last year’’. Göğüş who stated that the developing of hygiene sector contributed positively for nonwoven sector, also said ‘’ Hygiene sector is the biggest and locomotive sector for nonwoven sector. Dismissing the fact that the wet towel part, Mogul has faced to industrial applications by preferring to stay out of the sector from the beginning’’.
Investments for hygiene sector increased
Göğüş who stated that Turkey was not a big player for hygiene sector but with the researches made by recent years this changed also said the firms carried on business in this field progressed rapidly. Göğüş mentioning Turkish firms were carrying out manufacturer for international market as well, the Turkish signed many investments recently with nearby countries.
We are developing sophisticated products
Göğüş who stated that nonwoven proceeded at medical sector with hygiene sector, also stated that medical sector demanded pretty sophisticated products with the increased technical expectation in recent years as well as standard products. Göğüş said ‘’ As Mogul, our current manufacture process is for mainly standard products but our efforts to develop more sophisticated products has been keeping on. Besides by completing the biocompatibility tests for our products for the needs of local medical manufacturers, the registration process to Turkish Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices National Data Bank completed’’.
Nonwovens are used anywhere
Göğüş who stated that nonwoven sector was a sector which was always in searching for innovation and research also said ‘’ After 1960s, although there wasn’t revolutionary innovations at main manufacture process, serious development happened on the subjects like manufacture capacities, product quality, hybrid technology, product and application innovation. There isn’t any place where nonwoven isn’t used in our day. As being Mogul, investing on different and new technologies continuously and creating product and sector variety have become our strategy from the time we were founded. On this field, by working with either within company or exterior consultants, our process and product development efforts have been continuing and new investment projects have been taking form within this scope’’.
