“We are adapting to change”
After the press conference, Messe Frankfurt Textile Fairs President Olaf Schmidt, shared important information with the magazine ‘Textile World’ (Tekstil Dunyasi Dergisi). “Textile is the world’s fastest growing and changing industry” states Mr Shmidt and explains that they adapt their fair organizations accordingly to these developments and changes. Up until today under different segments they have organized more than 40 fairs and have always provided their organizations with new insights. The recently started new usage of digital printing in the home textile industry and sustainability coming to the forefront together with the developments in design and materials are examples Mr.Schmidt gives about this issue.
“We give great importance to the digital printing process, because this technology provides manufactures with opportunities for a more creative production.”Mr Schmidt reports that, in a short time period a large development in the textile industry on digital printing will be seen.
“We will be giving place for E-Commerce”
The new edition of Heimtextile is expected to be more larger than the previous year, Mr Schmidt explains and adds that as Heimtextile in 2014 their aim is to target highly qualified participants. “In the textile industry , exhibitions are one of the most important promotion tools where customers and products intersect at a certain point. For this reason we need to make the right progress and a true market analysis” Mr Schmidt says. For studies made under this issue he gives the internet as an example. “We have made serious studies on the usages of the internet. As you know internet is very important for the whole globe. Our aim today is to provide information to retailers whom don’t use the internet too frequently and explain the importance of the internet as a sales channel besides large stores. We are giving seminars and education on this subject. Because we believe that in the future internet will be more demanding to retailers, as Heimtextile in 2014 we will give special importance to E-Commerce.”
Heimtextile, having no quota applications required for it’s participants as Mr Schmidt explains ,said that this depended on the states and their agreement between themselves and that Heimtextile was very important for the home textile market adding that they were very pleased by the increasing number of participations.
Especially in recent years, due to the economic situation, many European textile producers attended to these fairs to establish business contacts in the China, Middle East and American market explains Mr.Schmidt and continues saying that at this point Heimtextile comes into prominence and that this criteria is very important for them to demonstrate their achievements.

This is an important development for us.”
