Kahramanmaraş will be Textile-Tourism City

Matesa Textile Industry and Trade Inc., which is listed in the Turkey’s 500 largest industrial companies every year and which has one of the rare textile plants all around the world, achieves new successes, by increasing its share of exports every year. Matesa Inc., which entered the sector with yarn and knitted fabrics in 1989, continues to produce at high quality standards with yarn, knitting, paint, weaving, and woven paint shop and denim factories.  Matesa, which operates in all the fields of textile sector and made lots of investments especially after the year 2000, continues to maintain its target to globalize by exporting 50 percent of its production.

Vice General Manager of Matesa Textile Industry And Trade Inc., İlhami Deniz made specific statements to Textile World Magazine Publishing Group. Matesa Textile, which contributes greatly to the economic development of Kahramanmaras, produces all types of fibres such as slub, lycra, compact and coloured yarn in the facilities where you can see 400 thousand square meters of open area and 300 thousand square meters of closed area. Matesa Inc., whose daily yarn production capacity is 100 tons, also produces 45 tons of knitting, 45 tons of knitting paint, 60 thousand meters of weaving, 80 thousand meters of fabric paint and 80 thousand meters of denim production.

Stating that they produce for the world’s major brands in the factories  where they can produce all kinds of yarn, İlhami Deniz said: ‘’We work with local producers as long as Quality-Service-Spare Parts-Confidence rules are considered. At present, we chose the machines, such as air conditioning, slub apparatus, lycra apparatus, conditioning units, which are produced by local manufacturers.’’. Emphasizing that they work with many foreign textile machinery manufacturers, Deniz stated: ‘’we request that the technical services of the foreign-funded firms, their technical staff and spare parts can be accessible in Turkey.’’.

P & D and R & D should be strengthened

Giving information about production in 2013, İlhami Deniz said: ‘’By increasing and diversifying the investments, the continuation of productions is our expectation. The development of high value-added products will be useful for the country’s economy In order to meet this expectation, P & D in firms and R & D units should be strengthened in companies.’’. Stating that it is so important for them to be in the list of 500 largest industrial companies, Deniz continued his speech as follows: ‘’ Matesa is an important organization in the region, Kahramanmaraş, with the social responsibility projects.’’. İlhami Deniz expressed that they support to the training qualified staff with the courses and internship opportunities organized by Matesa, which is constant communication with the training institute.

Find the Least Common Denominator Means Power Unity

Kahramanmaraş, which is a city standing out with the structural changes experienced in the industrial sector in recent years, has become one of the largest manufacturing centres in Turkey. Deniz emphasized the importance of “International Textile Summit” where there is a great attendance of national and international participants and which is organized in parallel with this development. He also added: ‘’ We would like to thank all my friends who contributed the organization, we also thank the East Mediterranean Development Agency and Kahramanmaras Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their efforts and contributions to the private sector. The shows and presentations prepared for the Gala night were as a visual feast. Such events means power unity if they are held by finding the least common denominator for the companies. This situation experienced in the textile industry indicates that our city gives itself to this task and directs the investments to this field.’’

Kahramanmaras will be Textile-Tourism City

Underlining that such organizations would always benefit for the convergence of the sector and the start of commercial relations with face to face interviews, İlhami Deniz reminded the “Textile Machinery Exhibition” to be held on 23-25 October 2014 in Kahramanmaras and he said: Trade Fairs are the point of coming together. In textile sector, the largest investments are made in Kahramanmaras; therefore, this is a delayed organization for this city. Holding ‘’International Textile Machinery Exhibition’’ in Kahramanmaras will be useful (ex: during company trips) for displaying all the machines, which will be presented, the running machines as well as the other machines which can be used.  This organization will also make Kahramanmaras into a Tourisme-Textile city. It will contribute to increase the opportunities for the tourism and the city’s economy.’’
