ITMA 2015 which the whole sector awaited impatiently and is the biggest event of the sector hosted for countless innovations and launches at Fiera Milan Rho fair area in Milan, Italy between the dates 12- 19 November. In ITMA which our Publication Group which sounds the sector out participated by opening booth, 1691 participators exhibited their new developed technologies and innovations. When compared to ITMA which was organized in 2011, there was a 20% of increase at participator number.
To the fair in which participator record was set, 140 firms participated among which there was important firm from Turkey. While Italian firms filled 32.540 square meter of area in the fair which covered 108 thousands square meter of area, Germany followed it with 21.380 square meter. With 7.590 square meter of area, Turkey which had the third widest area in the fair left aster China which had 5.88 square meter, Sweden which had 5.530 square meter and India which has 4.870 square meter of area.
In this edition of ITMA, more than 123 thousands of visitors and sector representatives visited the fair. The most visitor belonged to the host country Italy as well as the most participator number. India which raised its visitor number 9% compared to the previous edition, Turkey followed it with 8% of increase. At visitor number, Germany, France, USA, Iran, Brazil, Pakistan and Spain followed Turkey.
Finish Sector Left it’s Mark on ITMA
In ITMA which all of the processes took place from fibre processing to spinning, weaving, from knitting to finish and from color to printing processes, while 303 participators from finish sector took up 23% of the fair area,290 participator took place at yarn technologies field. While 179 participators attended from weaving sector, 128 participators from knitting and hosiery field and 113 participators from printing sector exhibited their products.
Achievement Award for Turkey
Cenk Olcaytu who is the Consultancy Director of One Stop which undertook the Turkish sales of ITMA 2015, took the Achievement Award given by Meeting Planners International (MPI) during the fair. Olcaytu who took the award as Turkey ranked number 3 at sales as square meter based, ranked number 2 as firm based and ranked 3 at visitor number, in his statement made for our Publication Group, said that the award he took was the success of the whole Turkish textile sector and said ‘’Turkish textile sector which took part among the 5 countries in the sense of either participator number or alignment of square meter in ITMA, both as being Textile World Publication Group and other establishments carried out many activities in order to introduce Turkish machinery sector to the world before and after the fair’’.
Sustainability Formed the Focal Point of ITMA
In accordance with the notion of sustainability which took place at the focal point of ITMA this year, the firms which introduced their studies for environment- friendly and reducing energy usage also presented their latest innovations at the issues like energy and resource reduction. Events and conferences which were organized parallel with the theme of sustainability aroused great interest.
World Textile Summit which was organized on November 13, Textile Colorants and Chemical Leaders Forum on November 14, Digital Textile on November 15 and Nonwoven Conference was organized on November 16 synchronously with ITMA in which the leading names of the world attended.
World Textile Summit
World Textile summit which was carried out on November 13, gathered the most important representatives of textile sector in the world. Charles Beauduin who is the President of CEMATEX which organizes the summit that is organized within the frame of the added- valued created by textile sector and investment opportunities in the countries, in his speech made at the opening ceremony, ‘’Textile sector meets the requirements of people as being a roof sector which addresses to clothing sector and it always has an important place in any period of time. At the same time, it contributes for manufacture and employment especially in the third world and developing countries. But as well as with these contributions, it may cause environmental problems on the geographies where manufacture is realized. In the summit of this year, we will try to develop solution suggestions by discussing environmental problems created by textile sector’’.
Textile Colorant and Chemical Leaders Forum
In Textile Colorant and Chemical Leaders which took the attraction of fashion and textile dyeing sector representatives coming from all four corner of the world, sustainability at dyeing and finish were discussed. In the forum which the up- to- date information were shared with the participators on the possibilities of sector and new developed applications, and extensive issues like the problems having at the manufacture, solutions and future trends were talked, how the market was affected and how the supply chain responded to this based on chemical pollution and environment problems and the developing trends were discussed.
Andrew Filatpwsky from the Federation of Dyeing and Colorants, Enrique Meltzer from Latin America Textile Chemists’ Federation, Jan Marek from International Textile Chemicals and Colorants Federations, Alberto Gallina from ZDHC Group, Prof. Marc Vanparys who is the President of Unitex and Prof. Guiseppo Rpsace from Bergamo University who is known with the studies he carried out on the harms of textile chemicals to environment took part at the forum as a speakers.
Alessandro Gigli who is the member of the Board of Italian Textile Chemical and Colorant Association and hold the presidency of the forum committee, related to the Forum ‘’Rather important speeches and presentations were carried out on the approaches of chemical and colorant suppliers to the current environmental issues, updating at RECAH regulations, effect of new dyeing and printing technologies on sustainable supplying chain throughout the forum. Due to the fact that there was a great interest for sustainability issues which affect textile and ready wear sector, we took many article presentation. We are hoping forum to be the focal point for meaningful dialogues which will contribute to the developments at this sector’’ said he.
Nonwoven Forum
In Nonwoven Forum which the problems, difficulties and opportunities at fast- growing nonwoven sector were discussed, sectoral problems, difficulties and opportunities were talked. In Nonwoven Forum which was shaped within the theme of ‘’Nonwovens: Growth and world of Opportunities’’, Laurent Jallat who is the Marketing Department President of Andritz Nonwoven, Martin Malhmann who is the Sales Director of Oerlikon Neumag, Johann Philipp Dilo who is the General Manager of Dilo Group, Stephan Reil who is the Marketing Department Manager of Pulpra Chemicals Nonwoven, Michael Bildhauer who is the Technical Service Responsible of CHT Beitlich Fibre Equipment, Robert Zyschka who is the Technical Service Responsible of CHT Beitlich Fibre Equipment Coating and Finish, Francais Baud who is the Marketing Responsible of Clariant Global Fibre and Jaques Prigneaux who is the Market Analyses and Economic Affairs Director of EDANA took part as speakers.
