Işıksoy Tekstil, which has an important position with the production of woven fabric and yarn in its facility in Bursa, has started to commission the yarn facility which established in Şanlıurfa, step by step. In the 4-stage project of the facility, which will have a total closed area of 92 thousand square meters, the first 2 stages have been delivered and became operational. The facility, which is planned to have a viscose and blended yarn production capacity of 1,500 tons/month when completed, will also be instrumental in increasing Işıksoy Tekstil's dominance in the market by producing the yarns needed by the Turkish textile industry in the field of viscose and blended yarn.
'Green Factory' Which Produces Its Own Energy
While pointing out that the facility, which provides added value to the region, will also contribute to the social and economic development of the city with the employment it will provide, Işıksoy Tekstil Board Member Arzu Işık stated that the facility is also positioned as a 'Green Factory' that is capable of producing its own energy with the completed 4.7 MW rooftop solar power plant. While emphasizing on the preparation for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, Arzu Işık said that conducting works towards efficiency and green production for many years, the company have been well prepared for the process. Arzu Işık said, “Increasing energy costs and fierce competition urged our company to invest in the field of energy. To increase our competitiveness in the industry, we need to focus on reducing our input costs. So, we focused on renewable energy investments in line with this direction." While stating about using 15 percent of the yarns produced in their facilities in Bursa for their own needs and offering the rest to the market, Işık said that having a monthly production capacity of 1,200 tons in synthetic and gimped yarn production, and that their supply to many big brands, the company has a monthly fabric production capacity of 5 million meters.
"Our Investments Will Continue"
While stating that employing approximately a thousand people within the company, Arzu Işık talked about their planning to invest in a facility in Bursa Technology Organized Industrial Zone (TEKNOSAB) in the long term. On the other hand, Arzu Işık also talked about branding studies carried out and said, “Our Turquality brand support application has been approved. We will accelerate our branding efforts for our target markets in the coming period." While stating that exporting 20 percent of their production directly and 60 percent indirectly, especially to European countries, Arzu Işık said that continuous improvement efforts have gained importance in the textile industry, which has focused on more environmentally friendly and ecological approaches in recent years.
