“International Textile Summit” Has Started

The "International Textile Summit" where very precious participants from Turkey and world meets began in Kahramanmaraş.

“International Textile Summit” Has Started

With the slogan “Textile Returns To Its Soil” and with the coordination of the Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency ( DOĞAKA), the symposium which is held together by Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University and Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce has started with an opening at Mehmet Akif Ersoy Cultural Centre. The keynote speakers were  DOĞAKA Deputy Secretary-General Onur Yıldız, Sütçü İmam University Rector Prof.Dr. Mehmet Fatih Karaaslan and KMTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors Kemal Karaküçük.

After the speeches the "Leaders Who Directs Textile" panel was held.  At the panel which started with Prof. Dr. Ayşe Okur's moderation, valuable names of the textile industry such as Kipaş Holding Chairman of the Board of Directors Hanifi Öksüz, İTHİP Chairman of the Board of Directors İsmail Gülle, ATHİP Chairman of the Board of Directors Zeki Kıvanç shared their experiences with the participants. İsmail Gülle underlined despite the global crisis which has engulfed the world, how  theTurkish textile sector successfully survived this period "During this time of crisis, we have seen how important employment is. We were even not affected by the 2009 crisis, in fact our exports grew. We did exports to countries that were said about that cannot be done. In this term, we saw the true face of the world giants together. When America, Britain, Italy got affected by the crisis they showed how they have a makeup on their faces.” said.

The symposium continued with the participation of industry giants, about 750 visitors attended. After the final point where the Turkish textile sector is and its reflection to the sector panel, the program continues. At the symposium which will evaluate the textile sector with its every aspect, under the subjects of industry-leading company owners, managers and representatives of the public by marketing, production, technology, human resources and energy issues, panels and presentations will be held.

At the events which will be held at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Cultural Centre and Sütçü İmam University Seminar Room, a large number of participants are expected from the sectors such as domestic and international business executives, academics, bureaucrats, designers, professional organizations, civil society representatives, media organizations.
