Moscow, one of the rising stars of the fashion world, is preparing to host leading professionals from more than 100 countries, which led by Turkey. It will host key figures, including fashion assembly chairman, designers, representatives of textile and manufacturing companies, at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, the largest event of the global fashion industry which will be held on October 3-5. The summit, where exhibits of our country will displayed as well which increased its sales in Russian marketplaces with clothing and footwear brands by 40% just in the first half of 2024, will provide the groundwork for new collaborations.
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit, which serves as a platform where evaluations on both technology and traditions in fashion are awaiting to be explored, will discuss topics such as artificial intelligence, environmentally friendly materials, 3D technologies, sustainability and paths to a responsible fashion industry. An international exhibition titled “Heritage” will be held to look closely at cultural codes and the origins of fashion.

Cem Altan, President of the International Apparel Federation, explained the importance of the event for the fashion industry with the following words; “Moscow has become a very important spot in the global fashion arena, especially for developing countries. While several ideas are discussed at the event where a number of countries come together, new collaborations are also established.”
“This Summit Will Provide Insights for the Use of Technology in Fashion”
Bediz Yıldırım, a lecturer at Istanbul Fashion Academy whom will be attending the summit as part of the training program and will be lecturing Russian students, said the following; “This summit allows countries to share their insights on how technology can be used to overcome barriers to entry into global markets, such as logistics and branding. In my role as a digital strategist, I regard the BRICS+ Fashion Summit as a critical meeting point where growing economies can learn to effectively integrate digital solutions from marketing to consumer engagement for sustainable growth.”
The BRICS+ Fashion Summit serves as both a business platform and an innovation forum where fashion meets technology and cultural heritage. In this context, Moscow offers the ideal environment for creating innovative solutions in the fashion industry with its rich history and modern structure. The summit will run until October 9 and shares the same timetable with Moscow Fashion Week, where 120 designers from 8 countries will showcase their collections on stage.
