Carrying out 81% of the nonwoven fabric production in Turkey and strengthening its leading position day by day, Gaziantep employs 40 companies and more than 6500 qualified personnel in nonwoven fabric production. In the report published by Gaziantep Chamber of Industry regarding the current outlook of the sector, the companies operating in their cities are listed.
The word nonwoven is derived from the English words non (not one, without) and woven (weaving), in Turkish literature, non-woven or not woven surfaces have been used as felt, quilt, clothing and tent in various parts of the world for thousands of years. These surfaces, obtained by felting the wool fiber with various methods, are the first examples of nonwoven textiles in the world.
After the production of warp lace or interlacing from nonwoven (not woven surface) staple fibers, it is fixed or with the help of fiber drawing heads laying the finite fibers obtained by spinning fiber from the melt as a cheese cloth layer on an endless conveyor belt and their fixation process can be achieved by utilizing the melt's self-adhesive feature or by a thermal, chemical, etc. called textile surfaces produced by following an activity in process.
Usage in Various Industries
Nonwoven fabric is a technical textile material that is produced only for special uses, not fabric or woven or knitted, and that has a very low cost taking into account its usage period. This special product is known for its anti-bacterial structure, which can bring in liquids, pull away liquids, is strong, flexible, soft, tense, has fire retardant properties, also has a filtering feature, and is resistant to bacteria. These non-woven products can be used along many application phases. Nonwoven production continues to grow rapidly. Nonwoven, which was considered as a product used in private areas a short while ago, now has dominated every part of our daily life with the arrival of pandemic.
Some Sectors Using Nonwoven Fabric;
-Hygiene Industry (Wet Wipes, Make-up Cleaner Wipe, etc.)
-Medical Sector (Surgical Gown, Surgical Mask, Pad, etc.)
-Textile Industry (Baby Diapers, Cleaning Cloth, Industrial Carpet Floor Coverings, etc.)
-Artificial Leather Industry (Inner Lining, Bag, Clothing, Shoes, etc.)
-Automotive Industry (Carpet and Floor Coverings, Front Panel Insulation, Hood Insulation, etc.)
-Construction Industry (Flame Barriers, Under Tile Covers, Floor Protective Covers, etc.)
-Filter (Heating, Cooling and Ventilation Units, Compressor Areas, Electric Panels, etc.)
Meltblown Fabric
As a definition, melt means "melting, melt", blown means "to blow." Meltblown is a synthetic manufacturing technique in which a polymer melt is extruded at high velocity through small nozzles surrounded by blown gas.
Meltblown Fabric Properties
Meltblown fabrics are highly preferred due to their filtering feature. Meltblown fabrics are generally preferred due to their absorbency feature in cloths called microfiber.
These fabrics, which are used in sheathing, are widely used in medical fields such as the production of gloves and masks, especially with the pandemic.
Spunbond Fabric
Spunbond (interlining) is a type of textile fabric obtained from 100% polypropylene raw material used in a wide variety of applications in the textile industry and defined as not woven (non-woven: not knitted, not seen woven process or felt-like) that makes it different from other fabrics. Spunbond Nonwoven Fabrics is a fabric-like material made from long fibers bonded together by hot press. They are flat, porous layers made directly from separate fibers or molten plastic or plastic film. They do not require the conversion of fibers into yarn, not by weaving or knitting.
Spunbond Fabric Features
Spunbond fabrics with antibacterial properties especially attract attention due to their absorbent properties as well as fire retardancy. It is widely used in the inside of filtering.
