ITMA, the world's largest international textile machinery fair, hosted Turkish machinery manufacturers in Barcelona. Exports of textile and garment machinery of Turkish machinery sector reached 722 million dollars last year and they exhibited their new products at ITMA fair with 165 companies. 1700 exhibitors from 45 countries took part in the fair and the Machinery Exporters Association made promotional activities under the brand "Turkish Machinery ”.
Machine Exporters Union Chairman Kutlu Karavelioğlu stated that Turkey exports textile and garment machinery to the Middle East, Far Asia, Europe and different regions of the world and said, “We are proud of exporting to the whole world under the leadership of our advanced technological products developed in textile and garment machinery field and our companies carrying out branding strategy in the field of activity. We have the power to increase our textile and garment machinery exports reaching 722 million dollars in 2018 to 1 billion dollars. The high production performance of our machines and the flexible structure that can serve different designs will carry us to this level in the short term.”

Karavelioğlu pointed out that there is intense interest and demand for new products exhibited by Turkish companies at ITMA fair and said that in the first 5 months of this year our textile and garment machinery exports increased by 26 percent in quantity. Karavelioğlu continued his speech with these words, “Where we have previously sent 4 machines, now we send 5 machines. This number will increase even more, and the 15% increase in value will go up as our machines reach their real value. In order to maintain our bargaining power, we need to maintain the demand in the domestic market. However, Turkey is giving 1 billion dollars foreign trade deficit in the field of textile and garment machinery, every year. The world has understood the quality of Turkish machinery and our textile and garment manufacturers have to trust us.”
