EDMİB Board of Directors, which held the first Board meeting of the new period under the chairmanship of Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (EDMİB) Board Chairman Erkan Zandar, formed three committees about virtual activities, fairs and the competition, which it attaches strategic importance for the 2022-26 period. Stating that they have structured a dynamic board of directors who are competent in the leather industry and knowledgeable about the world trends, Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association President Erkan Zandar stated that they have decided to carry out activities that mainly focus on sustainability and social compliance activities in the next 4 years.
Noting that the Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association seemingly increased its exports from 129 million dollars to 171 million dollars in 2021 with an increase of 32 percent, Zandar said, "By increasing the level of increase in our exports to 50 percent in the last 1-year period, we have brought 185 million dollars of foreign currency into Turkey. At the end of our appointment, we are aiming to reach an export target of 300 million dollars. To achieve this end, we will focus on South Korea and North America while strengthening our position in our traditional export markets.”
