Eroğlu Global Holding began the construction work of a new garment factory in Egypt, in which the level of investment will be 40 million dollars. The factory, which is intended to become operational in 2025, is planned to employ 3,000 people. The General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and Eroğlu Global Holding Group held the groundbreaking ceremony for the new factory to be established in the West Qantara Industrial Zone on Tuesday.
According to Egypt-based Amwal Al Ghad's SCZone news, the factory, which is intended to become operational in January 2025, is expected to create 3,000 jobs. While speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, SCZone Chairman of the Board Waleid Gamal El-Dien said, “The Eroğlu Global Holding Project opens up a new page in Turkish investments in the SCZone.”
The facility, which has an area of 64 thousand square meters, will be the first facility in its field in West Qantara. The first phase of the project will focus on the construction of facilities that will produce 7 million pairs of denim pants per year. The facility is expected to export 70 percent of its production and generate annual sales of 100 million dollars.
Eroğlu Chairman of the Board Nurettin Eroğlu announced their plans to expand the facility to 400 thousand square meters in the future. With the garment investment, Eroğlu Global Holding’s third investment in the country achieved.
