Bitlis campus, which will produce yarn with a total capacity of 100 tons per day in order to increase domestic and national production by Eren Tekstil which operates under the umbrella of Eren Holding, was inaugurated with a ceremony which held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“We Continue to Increase the Qualified Workforce in Our Soil”
While delivering a speech at the opening ceremony, Eren Holding Chairman of the Board Ahmet Eren emphasized on their aim to come up with a sustainable solution to the employment problem of Bitlis and the region as well with the production facility inwhich the major aim will be on creating added value for the Turkish economy and the textile sector, and said; “We have been supporting the educational and cultural activities in Bitlis effortlessly ever since. We want to support our Bitlis in the economic field as well with the establishment of this yarn factory which we stand next to. This facility is the largest industrial production facility established by the private sector in Eastern Anatolia, excluding Malatya, since the foundation of our Republic. When all its units are completed, the total cost will be 200 million dollars and employment will be provided to 1100 people. More importantly, other investments will also be encouraged and as a modern facility, a good example will be set for the future generations.
However, in addition to the existing measures, new measures should be put into effect as well in order to encourage the investors who will come to this region to make a profit outside of social responsibility. We have completed our scientific study, which includes our suggestions on this subject. We will present it to the relevant departments of our state. We wish that both the Eren Tekstil factory and the public investments which will be unlocked will be beneficial for our Bitlis and for our country, and in this regard, we extend our thankfullness to all of the teams whom have contributed.

It will Contribute to Employment
The investment of approximately 200 million dollars by Eren Tekstil consists of three stages in total. In the yarn facilities, which was first commissioned in 2021, with a total open area of 215 thousand square meters and a closed area of approximately 100 thousand square meters, with an annual production of 36 thousand tons of yarn, 1100 people will be employed.
The first two Stage yarn facilities, which started their production activities, will carry out 24 thousand tons of yarn production annually, and with the commissioning of the Third Stage, approximately 36 thousand tons of yarn production will be achieved annually. The third phase will be operational as well in December 2024.
The Major aim is to Increase Textile Exports
At the facilities, the aim is on contributing to the import and export volume of 450 thousand tons, which applies to cotton yarn and blended yarn items, as of 2022 in consistent with the foreign trade figures, by approximately 6 percent and to increase the global competitiveness of Turkey in the textile sector. Approximately 50 percent of the yarn which is to be produced is planned to be allocated to export capacity.
Bitlis yarn production facility has become Eren Holding's second largest investment in the textile industry.
In order to contribute and support female workforce employment, a large part of the number of employees consists of female personnel.
