Tekirdağ Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone (ÇOSB) Chairman Eyüp Sozdar shared statistical data on the export companies and based on the Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) data; the 28 companies in the Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone in 2017 ranked amongst the first thousand and these figures have increased to 31 in 2018.
20 thousand people have been employed
Sözdinler emphasized that the annual export figures are around 3.5 billion dollars and the corporation has reached 93 percent occupancy rate in the evaluation of OSB where 254 companies are physically established and shared the following; ‘’Textile companies consisting of 67 companies out of 254 in textile production.20 thousand workers are currently employed in textile companies in the region and in total, their figures approaching 80 thousand. Textile companies are being accountable for the half of the exports. Most reputable textile companies conducted their operations in the region’’ and underlined the export activities from the industrial area to the EU nations, Turkish republic countries, various Arab countries and the US with the priority given to the England and Germany.
Improving Service Quality
Sözdinler give some information on the production processes in the factories located within the region in the following disciplines such as textile, wool, cotton and synthetic fibers, except for the production of yarn, knitted or woven fabrics produced from these fibers, dyeing, printing and finishing (finishing operations) and continued his speech with the following; ‘’ We are improving our service quality day by day in order to contribute more in terms of investment and employment.’’
27 R & D Centers are in operation
Eyüp Sözdinler said that 27 of the 49 R & D centers in Tekirdağ are loacted in ÇOSB and four of them are textile companies. Emphasizing the importance of the OSB that is necessary for the development and industrialization, Sözdinler said the flowing; ‘’As ÇOSB, we want to show that we offer sustainable services to our participating companies and other large stakeholder groups in our region, to create awareness and to include them in this effort.’’
