Şahin Doğan, General Manager of Akmaz Barkod who said they opened a branch at the first months of 2015 in Merter that is the center of textile remarked that their goals as the company was to create brand- new portfolios and carried an innovative service understanding to the future with the technological innovations and they would carry out retail and wholesale with the new branch that they just opened. Mr. Doğan who said they had been searching for a place in Merter for a long time also said "Being here has a strategical importance to us, we will be more reachable thanks to this new branch". Mr. Doğan stating that 50% of their customer portfolio was in Merter added his speech that they would perform bulk orders from the head office in Yenibosna.
“Technological Needs of the Sector have increased”
Expressing that the textile brands were giving great importance to the technology lately, R& D Manager, Kaan Şahinkaya also remarked that they struggled to meet the technologic demand increased at textile sector. Mr. Şahinkaya who stated they targeted company management system setup at top level with the improvements of software and application for the companies which were carried out directed to retail, wholesale and e- business applications in textile sectors also remarked that software applications were important but if more than one software setup wasn’t carried properly out, they would give irregular reporting and data flowing and this case would result negatively. Saying that they were working hard not to have these kind of problems, Mr. Şahinkaya added that they supplied the integrated management of all departments for the sector on just one software from production, purchasing, customer relations, product management to branch management, financial accounting and budget planning.
Mr. Şahinkaya who said they also presented japan viscose and satin label groups which took place in tag holder fabric group at the product group of Akmaz Barkod with the barcode machines to the sector and added that the ribbon group which was applied on label materials composed 70% of their turnover. Saying that glossy paper, thermal, fast dye, PP, cold and heat resistant labels they had in adhesive group apart from the others said "We are carrying out Turkey distributorship of CAB which is the world’s leading barcode printer. Besides we have several firms that we carry out their main dealership. We are selling the products of King in the washing instructions and the products of Ricoh in ribbon group with our brand named STI". Expressing that their own brand STI is a popular and wanted product at the market also said “We are using the experience that we have gained at the sector for the production of STI".
Mr. Şahinkaya who stated that CAB of which they carried out the distributorship came to the fore with the double- sided and double- colored label printing products and all the beginner level products of CAB had touchscreen and had interface in Turkish. Mr. Şahinkaya adding that they would pass to color displays with the new versions said "At the new systems, machines can print label by using mouse without connected to the computer. Beyond that, these new products which can print directly via the printer has 12 hour battery life”.
“We land an ear to the needs of the sector”
Mr. Şahinkaya stated that they were working to meet the needs of the developing sector and formed their sales and product planning by determining last technological advances and the tendencies of the sector. By remarking that as an example; textile sector tended towards the non-carcinogenic products recently and therefore they started studies in this direction to meet the need of the sector at this field also said “We started to give place to the products which is free from formaldehyde and has normal level of pH. We have been headed for the products which have Oeko- Tex and Reach certificates".
Also registering that the big brands at store systems started to use RFID labels, Mr. Şahinkaya said “Big stores such as Decathlon placed on chip security labels in japon viscous and satin labels. By this means, both stock tracking can be done and they are substituted the magnetic security applications which damages to the product. As this system is thought to have high price, it has not developed yet. But several firms will begin to use these labels very soon".
“We provide quality service”
The Member of the Board and the Member of the Board of Industry and Business Association of Merter, Kerem Bozkurt said that quality service understanding wasn’t developed enough in Turkey and he focused that unconditional customer satisfaction is quite important for them and he added " The main factor making us different is the service which we provide before and after sales. We have adopted quality service understanding as the company. We supply free support to the firms we work with. Certainly once in a month, our team consisting of experienced staff visit the firm. Thus, we are able to give quick response for demands and the problems of the firm".
Mr. Bozkurt who expressed that 2015 began so efficient for them after 2014 which had passed dead and troublesome also said “We began 2015 with important investments, the branch we opened in Merter will be the first step of this and we will carry out other progresses later on. At this point we are waiting for the economic indicators to get better more and we are waiting for the political problems in our region to finish as soon as possible”. Bozkurt said that the problems which occurred in the Middle East affected them negatively and although they realized important sales to Iran, Egypt, Libya, Uzbekistan and Ukraine, all these regions had important problems at the moment. He also focused that the election which would happen in June was important to Turkey and he also said he was waiting that the coming period would witness important gains for everyone.
