“We haven’t even reached 1% of World Accessory Export Market’’
The President of KYSD who shared his opinions on accessory export, highlighted that we haven’t even reached 1% of world accessory market. Osman Ege who answered our question based on the products manufactured by the members of KYSD, said ‘’While Turkish export has reached to 400 million dollars, it corresponds to less than 1% of world market. There is a long way to be taken. There are many less developed countries which don’t manufacture fabrics and accessory although they manufacture ready wear. All of them are potential for Turkish accessory sector’’. The President of KYSD, Ege who mentioned that accessory export was indirectly affected due to the export numbers at ready wear, said ‘’Our direct export are showing change according to the European countries and the economic situations of the countries we carry out export. Apart from that, political relations of our country with the countries we make export can affect positive or negative as well.’’
Russian Problem affected Accessory Sector too
Osman Ege who states that the firms which make business with Russia have been affected negatively in terms of economic and political, says that this effect are showing change according to the available customer structure of the firms in the sector. On the issue, President of KYSD says ‘’Our firms which are working with European and USA have been affected less. But the firms which works with Middle East and Russia have been stuck in difficult situation. I hope positive improvement happen in the next days for all of the markets we work with. But the main lesson to be taken is to find new markets and the reality that we need to deal the eggs into more boxes.’’
