While delivering a speech at the launch meeting of the "Turkey Green Industry Project" held in the Bilişim Vadisi, Kacır announced that the Green Industry Support program was commissioned to contribute to the efficient realization of green transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises within the scope of the "Turkey Green Industry Project" which will be carried out in cooperation with KOSGEB and the World Bank.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır emphasized on the urgency of carrying the spirit of mobilization in the green and digital transformation of our country, which is similar to the mobilization which we achieved as a society, with the National Technology Move. Kacır stated that the Turkish economy, which has proven its resilience against the shocks caused by negative global developments, has managed to grow uninterruptedly for the last 13 years and said that it has strengthened its role in global supply chains with its exports of 254 billion dollars. While stating that owing this to industrialists, exporters, R&D, entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, Kacır emphasized on the necessary steps taken for the green transformation of the country's industry in order to continue this success in the future.
With this awareness, Kacır talked about, as the Ministry, the implementation of many important projects in green transformation so far and the continuing support for industrialists, and mentioned on the implementation of the current Turkey Green Industry Project, which will make a greater contribution to the green transformation of the Turkish industry under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and with the financing support of the World Bank through KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK. Minister Kacır said, "With the Green Industry Project, we will support the efficient green transformation of our industrialists, entrepreneurs and SMEs. We will carry out the project, which has a budget of 450 million dollars, under the coordination of our Ministry, with the aid of KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK."
Two Separate Calls for Proposals under KOSGEB
While stating that transferring the 250 million dollar budget to the use of small and medium-sized enterprises with the Green Industry Support Program which will be run by KOSGEB, Minister Kacır said that two separate calls were published in the KOSGEB round of the project. Minister Kacır announced that with the "Project Call for Proposals for Supporting Solar Energy Investments of Industrial SMEs", up to 14 million TL will be granted for solar energy investments of small and medium-sized enterprises, and with the "Clean and Circular Economy Project Call for Proposals in Industry", up to 4 million TL will be granted for the projects implemented under the topics of energy, water and raw materials efficiency, sustainable and climate-resilient waste recycling, industrial symbiosis and circular economy
3 Consecutive Calls at TÜBİTAK Round
Minister Kacır mentioned on responding 3 calls in the TÜBİTAK round of the project and continued as follows; "With the Green Innovation Technology Mentorship Call, we will provide mentoring support to SMEs who want to adapt their business models, supply and value chains, products and services to green transformation. With the Green Transformation Call in Industry, we will transfer resources of up to 22.5 million liras to R&D and innovation projects that will facilitate the commercialization of technological solutions for the green transformation of the industry. With the Industrial R&D and Innovation Networks (SAYEM) Green Transformation Call, we will create new technology platforms for the development of high value-added products that will contribute to greener growth. We will provide support up to 300 million liras per platform" and added, "With the 175 million dollar portion of the project allocated to TÜBİTAK, we will support our companies and private sector-led collaborations engaged in R&D and innovation activities for green production, higher energy and resource efficiency."
Support for Thematic Projects
KOSGEB President Ahmet Serdar İbrahimcioğlu talked about their support to the thematic projects of SMEs such as renewable energy, resource efficiency, waste management and circular economy within the scope of the project.
İbrahimcioğlu stated that with this project, which will increase the competitiveness of SMEs in international markets, the aim will be on reducing energy costs, transition to environmentally friendly technologies and contribution to their sustainable growth.
The Most Important Element is Industry
TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal emphasized that the most important factor in the project is industry.
