Putting sustainable fashion concept at the top of its collections during their preparation, Yünsa produces fabrics from recycled materials as well as produces environmentally friendly fabrics that can be dissolved in nature. While keeping its commitment to circular economy model by recycling waste and reducing the use of natural sources, the company works in accordance with the US-based recycling company Unifi by producing fabric from waste plastic bottles.
The production concept to protect the nature
While talking about environmentally friendly practices, sustainable solutions and innovation that are all at the center of their production, Yünsa General Manager Mustafa Sürmegöz, ‘’In consistent with our mindset towards environmental production, we attach major importance to market products that consumes natural resources lesser and we use recycled materials In our collections. In this context, we achieve production of REPREVE® fiber blended fabrics produced by recycling waste pet bottles by cooperating Unifi known as one of the most active companies in recycling globally. By using more than 147 thousand kilograms of REPREVE® fiber in our collections up to date, we have successfully recycled approximately 8.7 million plastic bottles to fabric. In this way, savings around 2 million 283 thousand 530 kilowatt-hours of energy and 746 thousand 243 liters of water was made possible in total. In other words, achieving energy savings equivalent to one year's electricity consumption of 83 households or water savings equal to the one year for the supply of total demand of 1.022 people.''
